17-9 VT. X is guarding the Hokie point guard out near mid court with the shot clock running down. The Hokie makes a move then is forced to shoot a prayer at the shot clock buzzer and X foolishly fouls him, giving him 3 free throws instead of Pitt getting the ball. But when that Hokie made his move his foot was CLEARLY on the back court line and the shot should never have been attempted.
End of the game. Pitt player attempts a 3 that would have tied the game or cut the lead. VT player flies across and gets a hand on the ball sending it straight up in the air. Both players jump for the ball and the Hokie bats it to a team mate. One problem. The Hokie was standing out of bounds when he jumped and as soon as he touched the ball it should have been Pitt ball out.
These refs were atrocious enough on regular calls but these 2 non calls were inexcusable. And the announcers never said a word.
