A few quick thoughts

My friend was bitching at the game about that play call. And I said you know, if our tight end that everyone seems to love could have just thrown a block there that play could have gone for huge yardage. Instead he completely misses the block and the receiver gets buried behind the line of scrimmage.
agree, but I thought the receiver also didn't set up the block at all and there IS an awareness of how to do that but needs to happen quickly in real time with those plays

some times where the QB places the ball changes everything with those plays, and at times unintentionally an "off line" pass fortuitously sets one up by chance(not often)

I'm truly amazed at the shade being thrown on a patchwork offensive line, who I thought played one of their better games.

They're playing probably the best front in the ACC, and Nate holds the ball forever. He's also not the most nimble guy, and they protected him pretty well most of the game.
Yeah my thought as well. At one point they only had one starter at his original position

Brown struggled a bit in his first start but I think he’s going to be a good one

There was another play we had out on the edge that was a perfect example of that. The guy with the ball (I don't remember who it was off the top of my head) went to the outside of the receiver (I think it might have been Mumpfield). But the receiver was blocking the guy to the outside, and when the guy with the ball went that way he had to let him go or he was going to get called for holding. And the guy makes the tackle, and people bitch about the blocker letting the guy go and not making his block when the real problem is that when your receiver is blocking the guy to the outside you have to cut the ball up inside of him.
