Morehead State came out with a pretty good game plan. They took away the three-point line and overplayed the Pitt guards daring them to drive to the hoop. Coach Dixon tried playing both point guards together in the second half with mixed results.
Whenever Mike Young and Artis got the ball they fouled them. Fortunately the two made 22 of 24 free throws.
Neither team made many threes. Pitt was 1 for 13 from behind the arc.
Pitt out rebounded them 34-24.
Give credit to Morehead State. They were down 19 and did not quit. Their shots started to fall and they closed the gap.
We should know more about the Panthers after they play Davidson. Wish we did not have to wait a week.
