As you've probably seen, Alliance 412 officially launched a new campaign today: the Million Dollar Mission, a one-month effort to raise one million dollars from Pitt fans.
As I understand it, this isn't a campaign to raise $1,000,000 in recurring donations (although certainly they would take that). This is aimed at raising a pool of $1,000,000 in one shot. And in conversations I've had, I think there's something of a sense of urgency.
Why? Because if you look at the timeline for this campaign, it ends pretty much right before the transfer portal opens in December. Like, the day before.
I don't think that's a coincidence. I think this upcoming portal season is going to be a crucial one for Pitt - both in terms of additions from the portal and retention on the current roster - and I think Alliance 412 is gearing up for it with this campaign.
