I've read a lot about why JD left but believe it comes down to this. Steve Pedersen and JD were friends. That was important to JD. I believe he gave Barnes a chance but just didn't have the same relationship. He wanted that back and thinks he will have that at TCU. The move to ACC didn't help. Everything else is fluff. BTW, I wishould he had stayed.

This year's team was close. We were missing a piece or 2 and the grad transfers weren't the answer. If just one of them had panned out giving us either a center or a shooter we might be playing today.

One of the questions I would ask a coach in an interview is this. If your team is up 10 and on a roll, would you consider resting 3 or 4 of them at the same time. I'll miss JD but I won't miss this. Drove me nuts.

Pipe dream coaches and I hope we made the calls...Calipari and Sean Miller. First realistic choice...Enfield, would settle for Keatts.

I'll definitely root for TCU. Jaime Dixon is the definition of integrity and class.

I would love to see us keep Brandin Knight. First off, I believe he is a good coach. Second, he would help to keep this team together and the missing pieces may already be here or coming in (milligan, nix, recruits). But mostly because if the new guy is a superstar and leaves in 3-5 years, knight would be the man to keep it going.

Dixon was very close and loyal to Nordy. You also factor in Cochran as well.

On Peak's podcast which I linked on here somewhere he did mention that he thought relationships played a pretty good part in this. He really didn't have much of one with the new administration although It certainty could have developed. And he did have one with TCU's.

I was a huge Jamie supporter but if that was the case, good-bye. Pedersen almost wrecked the football program beyond repair, just as he did at Nebraska. The day Pedersen left was the second best day in the history of Pitt athletics.

If we had ham; we could have ham and eggs.... if we had eggs.
Our old coach is gone for a variety of reasons. He was essentially spoiled by the autonomy given him by the previous administration and did not want to do the work required by the new leadership.
For one, I will be happy to see at least one non-conference non-stiff opponent at the Pete each year.
The only non-stiff seen at the Pete was the forced "challenges".
If memory serves, the last non-conference non-stiff at the Pete was the university of Washington during the Aaron Grey years. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
