Good to see Pitt is Ranked 3rd Toughest Game for Penn State only behind Historically Mighty Harbaugh's Michigan Wolverines and of course Annually Big Ten One Meyers Ohio State Buckeyes, that Pitt Ranks with more CFB & NFL Hall of Famers and NCS than Penn State! Good to see the Black Shoe Diaries think that too. The BIG TWO still dominate Penn State, maybe Franklin can change it in this Century.
Excerpts:
Power Ranking Penn State’s 2017 Schedule:
Let’s take a close look at the upcoming season as Penn State prepares to defend its Big Ten crown.
3. Pitt (Sept. 9)
A season ago, Penn State came oh-so-close to a dramatic comeback victory in the team’s first matchup in 16 years. The Nittany Lions were hindered by a collection of injuries on defense, as well as an offense that hadn’t quite yet come together. This year there are no excuses. The Beaver Stadium crowd will be raring to go for this week two clash, as the atmosphere will be electric well before the 3:30 p.m. kickoff time. This will be the first time the Panthers visit Happy Valley since 1999, when Lavar Arrington was punishing the poor Panthers punter in a 20-17 victory for the good guys. (Big Punishment By A Last Second Kick, Oh-So-Close Again! LOL!, Arrington still looking for a Coaching Job, too bad he chose the wrong Program and did not get his Degree. McQueary has more money than Lavar and most Penn State NFL Busts, by Whistle-Blowing on Penn State Corruption Culture Lavar played under in 1999 under Sandusky's Prey?) ;)

Just some Banter, the Lions are stalking very low as their Lion Statue is seen near Paternoville changed to Nittanyville, and can't wait to pounce and on the Pitt Panthers, and so be it, they are always great competitors. The Nittany Lionlurker has been lying low all year long too.:confused::mad:

That Nittany Lion statue eerily looks like Sandusky stalking his prey.

LOL, Pure Coincidence or was a Future Portrayal of Athletic Integrity Problems associated with the Penn State Football Culture?

Just some Frenziedly Banter and take No Offense when they give it back, mock, and berate Pitt back on BWI, like Jackie Sherrill said, Pitt and Penn State Fans are suppose not to like each other when we play against one another. Just looking forward to another Great Game that should be played every year, and include WVU for Pitt too, and get the Mountaineers into the ACC down the line, and Temple too.

This Pitt Shame not playing the Backyard Brawl the first College Football Game Broadcasts over Radio, Pederson's Poison continues to hurt Pitt and Nebraska too, just my view, others differ, so be it.

Not a surprising scapegoat to throw in "The Nittany Lions were hindered by a collection of injuries on defense, as well as an offense that hadn’t quite yet come together."

PITT wasn't close to hitting on all cylinders on offense either, with Canada still figuring out the best usage of his weapons on offense. Even Conner admitted he was playing around 60% that game after coming back from injury and cancer treatments.

Disagree, I saw no such thing in Pitt's Canada Game Plans.

Pitt Defense was a bigger part of the problem that lost late leads, in games over 30 Points, OKST 45-38, UNC 37-36, VT 39-36, and NWU 31-24??? Including Superb Special Teams Coaching and Executions!

I think your misunderstanding what was written. PITT could have easily used to the same excuse with some of the quick possessions in the second half resulting in no points, since they were also breaking in a new coordinator. Instead, they simply overcame obstacles and won the game.

The 60% Conner statement was taken directly from James himself. To think he near the playing shape he was when PITT squared off with Clemson would be a huge mistake.

Concur and thank you for the clarifications, and the concerns with Conner was both a blessing and unknown even as Conner admits like you correctly point out, in his own words.

As I see it, Coach Pat & Staff are still tweaking the Rebuilding of Pitt Football Program has it establishes it own Coaching Persona of advancing his own recruits and players meshing in his systems in just his 3rd Year as Head Coach and Pitt in the 5th years of the ACC.

This 2017 Year can be a Break Out Year overcoming many unknowns and doubts or crash back to more obstacles in Rebuilding Pitt Football Program.

Just like last year when most Posters including myself had no idea how New OC Canada would work out, finding Panthers Wideouts to replace Tyler Boyd, instead he found and develop plays and systems that took advantage of every Pitt Player and Recruit Weapons, and just came up short on 4 games, due to Defense Learning and Growing!

I am optimistic on coach pat & Staff Coaching even better in 2017 but we still need to see it and again little room for key injuries. we will know after the YSU, PSU, OKST and GT Games?
