In the first quarter, Pitt lines up with two receivers split right, but both are on the line of scrimmage. Not the first time I have seen this formation, so even I know it is going to be a running play because the inside receiver can't go downfield on a pass play. I have never seen the play gain a yard. But they keep running it. Something about the definition of insanity applies here. I just wanted to go down to the sidelines and ask Whipple how he can be that inept. Had I had the stomach to stay past the middle of the third quarter, I would also liked to have asked why they thought that Patti, who can't be getting any reps in practice, should be thrown in after Beville got only one series. Not that it would have mattered, but what are they telling Beville?
It was really no fun going to the game. Aside from the sad performance, the whole experience was disappointing. I have been in the club for 15 years. Today, no tables or chairs available, nothing to do but go to our seats. The staff then focuses on masks, no brews without the ridiculously priced food (if their hot dog is really a foot long, I have news for my wife) and you can't even enjoy your drink inside, they instantly yell at you to take it to your seat. I know they are just doing their job, but the whole thing is so bad that I am cancelling my request for the VT tickets. And the uniforms are terrible, you can't make out the names or numbers to know who is screwing up ( I kmow, yesterday that was pretty much everyone). Couldn't tell until later that it was Ford that messed up on the first TD. Overall, a no fun day.
