Currently we have a verbal commitment from 2 RBs in the class of 2021, Hammond and Newton. I really like both backs. I believe that Newton could become the workhorse, difference-maker type of back that we all want to see.
I am concerned that these 2 will see Pitt's rushing attack the past two weeks and decide that they do not want to hitch their cart to the Pitt horse. Considering the offers Hammond and Newton hold, I'm not sure I could blame them.
Hopefully, we can turn things around and these 2 stick with us.
