As we know last season Pitt could run the ball on anyone, couldn’t pass if their life depended on it. Duzz went into the offseason looking to improve the passing attack while also sustaining what was done running the ball. First drive of the UVA game, pass pass pass. From the jump Whipple decided he was gonna turn Pitt into UMass. Now I know Pitt’s lack of running attack has been talked about all season but looking at the per carry averages for A Davis (4.3), V Davis (4.9), and Sibley (5.0) I sit here asking myself, why was the running attack an afterthought in basically every game? At UMass his last two season, his lead back Marquis Young averaged 5.4 and 5.1 per carry yet didn’t reach 1,000 yards either season. Does that make sense to anyone? Pitt’s running attack hasn’t had any rhythm or consistency to it at all, I mean where the hell did V Davis go? I can’t help but think Whipple’s vision hasn’t matched what Duzz wanted to see from the offense. What do you all think?
