Solomon Wilcotts on TNFL touting Aaron Donald as defensive player of the year. Leads interior lineman in sacks and tackles for loss. Monster game last night against Tampa.

Recruits take note, PITT puts plenty of kids in the league and they excel. You don't have to go to Alabama or OSU sit and wait your turn to be noticed. You can go to PITT play right away and go make the big bucks.

The ironic part about this. Is that Pitt's all time team would absolutely smash Alabama, Ohio State, or USC. We have put the most Elite talent in the NFL over anyone. Now just need to get all these superstars involved with Pitt to get the wheels turning.

You think Pitt's all-time team would smash the all-time teams of Bama, OSU, or USC?

I don't think so. Pitt's all time team is impressive, but so are the teams you mentioned. I don't think any of those teams would be getting smashed.

Post their teams then and I'll post Pitts. Be my guest. Choose any college you want.

USC would have a huge advantage at LB & Safety. OL would probably go to USC. WR & RB would go to USC. DL would be PITT.

QB is tricky. Obviously I'd take Marino, but the NFL Marino was better than the collegw version.

Overall I think you have to take USC. There are far more all time greats from USC. I think USC would trump everybody.

Put the team together. Then I can prove it wrong.

Well it's all subjective.

I can't even decide who I would take for Pitt: Doleman, Gilbert, Donald, Mass, Romano, Green... Which 2 would you select of the middle 4?

Yeah, I think may be a bit ambitious saying our NFLer's would "smash" Bama/OSU/USC's guys. I think we're all in the discussion and have had great success over the years.
But remember, that's a two-way street. When I tout our guys in the League, I almost always get "Well, how come you guys suck so much as a program??" It's usually not worth the debate....
BUT.........WE ARE scandal free since 1864!!!!!

This was done on the the college.football main forum. USC was trying to flex hard. I posted Pitt's all time offense and coaching staff and their mouths just about dropped. I was patiently waiting for someone to post another teams roster so I could embarrass it. It never happened. USC declared Pitt champion after just seeing the offense. I didn't even get to the defense, lol.

Haha!! I forgot a hall of famer. That's how good PITT is.

Im not even going to list players like Mark May who is in the college football hall of fame. Im just going to show people how dominant Pitt is. IF USC wants to gets its ass kicked again, by all means.

WR Swann

QB Palmer

I think Pitt would win also but this is impressive.
You have Stepnoski as a NFL Hall of fame. He's not. Also Fralic has zero chance of getting in.
USC has three in right now off the OL and Boselli is a lock. They win the Oline.
RB is close but probably USC too. Remember, they would have two Heisman winners....on the bench
WR is also close. Fitz speaks for himself but people forget how good Keyshon was
QB is interesting because like someone else mentioned, are you looking more at their careers in college or the pros? Marino definetly wins in the pros but is behind in college
TE is Pitt for sure.
No way, no how does Pitt smash this team.
Again, I think Pitt would win because I think our defense is better. USC has a better offense

Id like to see USC's entire team. And Im sorry, Carson Palmer can't hold Marino's jockstrap. That isnt even close. And neither is Keyshawn Johnson in comparison to Larry Fitzgerald.

Defense

DE-Mean Hugh Green-2 Pro Bowls, College Football Hall of Fame, 3 Time first team All American, and USC legend John Mackey called Green the best defensive player in the history of college football. If it wasn’t for a injury he would have been an NFL hall of famer and maybe Pitt’s best player ever

DE-Chris Doleman-8 Pro Bowls, 4 Time 1st Team All Pro, College Hall of Fame, NFL Hall of Fame

DE-Bill Mcpeak-3 Pro Bowls

DT-Bill Maas-2 Pro Bowls, 2 Time 1st Team All Pro, College Hall of Fame

DT-Aaron Donald-2 Pro Bowls, up for NFL player of the year 2015

LB-Joe Schmidt-10 Pro Bowls, 9 Time 1st Team All Pro, NFL Hall of Fame, College Hall of Fame

That is a Great Quote by James Conner. How can you not cheer for this young man?

It is a real shame too. All Decade team, Super Bowl champion, multiple time All Pro. Sure, Dirt Dawson was better at Center, but there shouldn't be a rule that says only 1 center from the 90's can get in.

think you could stick the oft forgotten Carlton Williamson in that fourth secondary spot....

Back to the original point about recruits considering how Pitt has done in turning guys into successes in the NFL, consider who Donald had as his defensive coaches when he was developing into a great DT. Now we have Narduzzi and Conklin. Imagine the possibilities.
