ACC/A10 Brooklyn games this year

va tech vs GW
bc vs Fordham
I saw some random person post this on Twitter a week ago but assumed it was some type of joke so I didn't post it. Its pretty clear the ACC isn't taking this event seriously. There could be some good matchups:

Duke vs VCU
Syracuse vs UMass
Pitt vs St. Joseph's
NCSU, Wake, or UNC vs Davidson
Louisville vs Saint Louis
ND vs Butler
UVa vs George Mason

I really like how the Big Ten and Big East hooked up for a secondary conference challenge and wished the ACC would do the same, possibly with the SEC.

They might as well play those games in LIU-Brooklyn's gym. I can't imagine more than 1,000 people will travel to Brooklyn for those games.

I'm a little surprised Georgia Tech wasn't put into this considering they were the team left out of the B10/ACC thing. If you're going to take 2 programs from the ACC for this, why take the two worst? Is this a CBS event? I would guess so, considering it was Rothstein who broke the news. If this was an ESPN event, I'd imagine they'd have something better to offer than VT and BC, with the network ties to the ACC.

Pitt-Dayton would've been an interesting matchup here, moreso than any other A-10 program for Pitt.

A Syracuse-Rhode Island matchup would've worked well too, considering the location and Hurley as the RI coach (Jersey guy but close in the NY Metro area). This would've at least drawn a crowd to the Barclay's Center... I'm not sure they'll even get 1/4 full for this doubleheader as is.

I think its pretty clear that the ACC has "wrote off this event." The A10 probably strong-armed them into agreeing to this series in exchange for moving out of Barclays for a couple years so the ACC just agreed to it, thinking all along they'll just send their worst teams because they dont even want to be involved with it. That's the wrong attitude I think because the A10 is a good league but I think that's what the thinking is. You can't come up with worse games than this.

As for it being a CBS event, I'd imagine it is this year. The A10 has 4 TV partners (ESPN, CBS Sports Network, NBC Sports Network, and American Sports Network (syndicated package on Sinclair OTA stations). I'd guess since that CBS is doing the games this year on a channel nobody will watch, the ACC threw them their worst teams and said "have at it."

As for attendance, you're right, it may not hit 4 digits. Maybe 500-1000. That's about all who took in the Pitt/Stanford game there a few years ago.
