The bloody weekend that was in the ACC

Root for stronger ACC for sure. This is a great result for the league. Maybe I was wrong about Louisville and they are ready in Year 1
I think the league is much improved. Especially the middle/bottom of the league. Going to be much easier for ACC bubble teams this season. 6-7 feels like the number. The mountain west is bad this year and not a ton of great mid majors.

I know that the committee puts an extra emphasis on non-conference games. If you had to pick either SMU or LSU being good (and lets say we beat SMU), you are saying they'd be equally important wins. They would not be.

The clear and obvious answer is SMU. Because LSU only plays three ACC teams (including, oddly enough, SMU). But SMU plays 20 ACC teams. So every ACC team playing a better SMU team gets a little more of a bump from playing the better team. But every ACC gets a little less "credit" for beating SMU if SMU is worse. Conversely, how good LSU is really only affects us, SMU and Florida State in the ACC.

The one and only thing that you've gotten right here is that they would not be equal. But you've got the team and the reasoning exactly backwards.

Not surprisingly.

Well only took another few hours for an SMF hypothetical to be wrong. WVU probably won’t be mizz awful this year.

I didnt think they'd be Missouri but I thought they could be 2-16 in the B12. Didnt see the game today but that rules that out. Now, WVU has a legit shot to make the NCAAT. Probably just needs to go 7-11 depending on who they beat and that's good for Pitt but darn its hard to root for WVU to do well

In general yes. However, LSU and WVU individually being good is better for Pitt than 1 random ACC team.

One random ACC team being good helps ALL 20 ACC teams. LSU being good only potentially helps three. The Hoopies being good only potentially helps us and Louisville.

In general, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Also kind of kills your hypothetical about the next 2 road games knocking Pitt out of the NcAA tournament.

So long as we don’t lose a home game to EKU or Sam Houston (both of which aren’t terrible teams -esp Sam Houston), and we beat VT, we are fine. Certainly on track to make the NCAAs with like 12 ACC wins or so. The computer numbers will be there. And they have to get to 68

He’s more worried about district HS soccer fields hosting PIAA CHAMPIONSHIPS that are better than D2 level soccer fields but have an address that is a middle school .. buffoon

Surprised no one mentioned Miami’s home loss to Charleston southern yesterday. They were 20 plus pt favorites and came out flat. Possibly one of the worst sports days for the U ever when combined with football.

Larranaga isnt even trying. Why is he insisting to coach that team. They were picked 3rd by some. They have arguably the 3rd most talented roster
