ACC Basketball

Do you guys realize the Big 10 has not won an NCAA basketball title since 2000?? That's pretty amazing considering they put in 7-10 teams each year.

As for the ACC, it definitely was down. Though Wake got screwed. Carolina finally is now playing to their potential. Miami has a great back court and that's the key to college basketball.

But FSU was not as good as thought, UVA is down, Louisville is down, Syracuse is down, Pitt is way way way down, NC State is NC State recruits well but never delivers. VaTech had one good weekend (ACC tourney).

Duke now is going to replace K. Lville has changed coaches. Syracuse soon will. Pitt's just a mess. GT is up and down. Leonard Hamilton and Jim Larranega are now on the north side of 70. So I would think this conference is not yet out of the weeds.

"Try spinning it any way you want but having the best teams in March is the only thing that matters in college basketball."

Evidence for the difference between over-weighting of early season OOC games and how teams are playing in March:

Sagarin Computer rankings comparison of overall season ranking with recent games ranking:

Team--------Overall----- Recent
Kansas---------#4----------#2
Duke------------#6----------#4
Villanova------#7-----------#1
UNC-------------#19---------#6
Miami----------#46--------#13
St. Peters-----#119--------#19

It's about playing your best basketball at the right time. You want your team to peak and play its best basketball in March. Great coaches have the ability to pace a team and its growth so they are playing at there very best for March Madness. It is tough to do, as many teams peak well prior to the tournament.

Sorry but people remember what teams go the farthest this time of year not in January.
So what you are saying the AAC is equal to the SEC this year since both had one team in the Elite 8. Didn't Pitt have a great two weeks in which they were 3-0 and beat a potential Final Four teams. No wonder why Heather sticks with Capel. The program has the ability to be a FF team since it beat one.

LOL - It isn’t 1 team going on a run. Duke manhandled Arkansas and is better than any team in the SEC. Miami throttled Auburn in the tournament. UNC is loaded with talent and is just as good as anyone. There are 2 ACC teams playing today to get into the Final 4 and Duke is already in. Don’t believe the hype, believe the results on the court when it matters most.
