Home teams who have lost:

Pitt twice
ND to VT
Miami to VT

Im really surprised to see that homecourt advantage seems to be as strong as ever even without fans.

In the ACC home teams are winning a greater percentage of the games than they did last year.

But the difference is that last year the ACC was right in the middle of the pack, 16th out of 32 in home team winning percentage. This year the ACC has the second highest home team winning percentage out of all the conferences.

What is it overall in college basketball? Homecourt advantage seems to be holding up which is shocking to me. Well, not for Pitt but, yea, like everyone else.

It wasn't in the Big 10 after about their first 30 games. It was the exact opposite, it was something like road teams winning at a clip of 75%. That was a few weeks ago, so I don't know what it is now.

Big Ten home teams are 41-27, 60.3%. That is 9th highest in the country.

Big 12 home teams are a smoking 17-22, 43.6%. 30th highest. Home teams in the Mountain West are 35-13, 72.9%. That's the highest in the country.

Interestingly, there are fans at Big 12 games. Obviously not big numbers though so I wonder if that plays into it.

I would guess that travel and lodging is more of an annoyance this year than in the past.

When Pitt was good, we had a bunch of players talk about how hyped they got playing in front of angry opposing fans. I could actually see playing in a sterile, unfamiliar arena as somehow more depressing, almost more like an exhibition or a practice than a big-time P5 game.
