ACC Network & Pitt Hoops Trip to Italy

I thought the network doesn't kick off till close to football season?

Right. It could technically be on ACC Network Extra. I think it was Jon Rothstein who tweeted a complaint that not enough of these foreign tours are streamed. He said something like it's such low-cost marketing for your program. I mean, heck, even if they put up the managers' recording of the game online after, that would be better than nothing.

They did that for a couple of the women's games when they went last on one of these trips. Someone was actually streaming it live on a Facebook account or something.

Awesome trip for these kids, and it would be icing on the cake to see a game or two.

Yeah, you often see the managers or someone else on the support staff just record the game and stream it unofficially via Twitter or Facebook Live. As long as the venues have WiFi, I’d think at least that would happen again.

I will say though - the basketball program’s video department on social media has been really strong lately; they’ve made a few new hires that have been putting out a bunch of good video content on the program’s instagram and Twitter accounts. Looking forward to see how they put stuff out there on the trip.

Just as @pittchagg mentioned above, I'm sure Pitt's media department will put out some videos, highlights, interviews, etc.
Full games would be awesome, but I'd imagine short clips, big plays, etc.
But yes, it'd be awesome to watch some of these. Similar to the FIBA games, let's say.

ACC network startup is August 6. Pitt Italy trip runs August 5-14 and they play 3 (or maybe 4) games during the trip.

Everything reads that the launch date is 8/22. Where are you seeing 8/6?

Thinking the 6th must have been some very early projected date I saw---when the actual date was still not settled.

In any event, hoping we get to see some video of the 3 games in Italy. Full boxscores would be nice as well to see how many minutes and the productivity in those minutes of both the returnees and the newcomers.

That video twitter guy they hired from KST who did that Mac Miller video is super talented but really, do put out a live stream or to put a stream out after the event is completed, all you need is a phone or video camera.
