ACC Seeds

If you want to have Vegas seed the tournament

I want the committee to give the better teams the better seeds. The fact that a lot of people apparently want lesser teams to get higher seeds makes no sense what so ever. The whole point of seeding tournaments is so that the best teams get the advantage of playing the lesser teams. If the best teams aren't going to get the advantage of playing lesser teams then what is the point? Put all the names in a hat and have a big drawing.

Imagine the ratings that show would get!

5 vs 6
End of debate
Are you honestly that stupid? How do you function in everyday society. Not only is 6/14 and significantly higher percentage of teams than 5/15, all 6 SEC teams are seeded at least 2 spots above ACC #2. What is the debate? There is no debate. SEC is Varsity. ACC is JV. The ACC is probably closer in terms of overall quality to the Atlantic 10 than the SEC and actually went 2-8 vs the A10 this year.

Then have Vegas do it. Take resumes out and have the wise guys rank the teams 1-68. I can live with that.

Or, conversely, have the people who are doing it now pay attention to who the better teams actually are. Which isn't really a part of their mandate now.
They don't rank teams based on who is better than who. They rank resumes based on a formula. VT's resume is that of an 11 seed. They got that right. However, I and Vegas would probably agree that they are probably like the 20th-30th best team right now in the country but that's not how they do the seeding.

Didn't I just say that in far fewer words?

Ok buddy. No use discussing this further. Everyone knows the SEC is varsity and the ACC is JV and that the SEC is varsity and I was right about everything I said about the 2 leagues this years. All one has to do is look at the seeds.

It’s 1 team better
Because 6-5=1
It’s that simple
You whiffed hard

The ACC has more teams. The WCC and Mountain West did better with only 4 teams in because they got 40% and 36% of the league in whereas the ACC got 33%. I guess math isnt your strong point.

You also conveniently discount the seeds. By your logic, a conference getting 4 11 seeds and 2 12 seeds is better than a conference getting 4 1 seeds and 1 2 seed. Yea, 6 is more than 5, duh, but the argument isnt which league got more teams. Its which league is better. Clearly, SEC is varsity and ACC is JV and the gap will continue to widen as Florida, SC, and Miss St will make good hires to keep up.

As it turns out, I had VT over-seeded. As stated on the selection show, if VT hadn’t won vs Duke they’d have been in the NIT (guessing).

I did hit the others pretty spot on, but that wasn’t as tough. Still, a poor showing for the ACC. A 2, an 8, a 10, and 2 11’s with one of the 11’s (ND) a play-in game

Despite the seed, VT got a good draw. They could do well in their bracket as both Texas and Purdue are beatable. Plus, the venue doesn’t favor either Texas or Purdue

Kansas looked like they got a favorable bracket

Let the madness begin!
Texas maybe. Purdue is certainly "beatable", but VT doesn't match up with them. Huge and physical up front, long and athletic in the backcourt. Lots of quality depth and size. VT is small all over the floor and thin on the bench.
