So after the loss last night to NC State does it guarantee that Pitt will play on Tuesday now and can be no higher then a 10 seed?? Not that it matters much anyway because I think this team has a very good shot of being one and done in the ACC Tournament. Just seeing if anybody by some chance has the final seeding scenarios if they beat BC on Saturday and finish 8-12.

Hopefully there’s a scenario we can miss entirely with a loss Saturday. I don’t want to watch these guys play anymore and they clearly don’t want to play or wear the blue & gold with pride

If ND, FSU, and VT all lose and we win, I believe we will end up in 10th place.

There is no way we can fall out of the tournament entirely, as the worst we can finish is 15th.

Any chance that we have to play in ANY postseason tournament should be welcomed in ANY year, no matter how frustrating the season was.

No thanks. With roster turnover what it is now, there's no real point.

All an NIT or whatever other tournament appearance accomplishes is giving a bunch of soon to be former members of the program a paid vacation on the athletic department's dime and an opportunity to raise their NIL stock.

It's looking like there will be a 5 way tie for 9th, or a 4 way tie for 10th if UVA wins their game.

I'm not going to look into how the ACC breaks a 4 or 5 way tie (I assume they make a mini-conference and then break ties as needed with smaller mini-conferences or head to head results), but it appears we'd come out on the bottom of that process either way.

We're looking at a 13 seed where we'd play the 12 seed (likely ND).

Looks like the first 3 games are Notre Dame, North Carolina and Wake Tues through Thurs if Pitt makes it that far. If they can get by Notre Dame which is never easy for Pitt I give them a shot against North Carolina on Wednesday. They beat North Carolina once this year and lost by 1 point a month ago at Chapel Hill. So I don’t expect much with this Pitt team; however, this is the conference tournament so just gonna try to enjoy it and hopefully this Pitt team can at least beat the Irish on Tuesday and play North Carolina on Wednesday which would pretty much be an NCCA Tournament elimination game for them if they lose to Pitt.

I would typically be pulling for the kids but this is first year where I feel that the tank on the season also deserves a first game exit.

I don’t want anything that makes Al sing “Let’s stay together”

I'd be very surprised if we get past ND on Tuesday. If we do, it's possible we might beat UNC as we already did this season and came close a second time. Forget trying to beat Wake.

But first things first. Let's just get past ND first.

UNC has improved over the last 10 conference games. We do not defend well enough to stay close should we get a chance. They are playing better and we are playing worse. They are a decent matchup tho because they are as weak as us inside. If we do get a shot, I would say we lose something like 82-64.

They ARE winnable.

So Capel has been here 7 seasons and we're a 13th seed in his 7th season. That's pathetic. AD Greene needs to have a heart to heart discussion with Capel and his entire staff and let them know they're on a very short leash. First step is to fire most of the current coaching staff and win at least 3 games in this year's ACCT. Then get at least 6 high quality portal players to replace the inevitable departures from this year's team. Next year, get back in the NCAAT or he's gone.

Would be nice. I think what happens with the staff this offseason will be very telling. If he doesn't get rid of anyone, he's basically signalling that he's comfortable with the status quo and is planning to ride out what is likely his final P4 job (and salary) instead of trying to improve the program.

Unless there's some sort of buyout cliff in his contract after this upcoming season, I think he's here for 2 more years regardless of what happens next year.

Three NCAA tournaments in eight seasons, including last year's run to the Final Four, is enough to get you fired.

Jeff Capel: Not pleased
It's easy to forget since they haven't had a lot of consistent results that NC State is routinely top 15-20 in the country in attendance. They also make over $20 million a year profit from football and have had the same football coach since 2013, which probably makes it easier to keep investing in hoops. Capel is safe not for hoops reasons but because we're broke.

ND just squeaked by Cal in 4 OTs where Pitt rolled in a blowout

Advantage Pitt plus it’s not in South Bend
