Right now, we are in a 3 way tie for 9th, a half game behind that talent-laden Virginia Tech team (who was picked 18th by some publications). We are still in a good spot to make the ACC Tournament as we are 2 games up in the loss column on NC State. But if we want to keep our ACC Tournament hopes alive, it could come down to those 2 late-season games at NC State and vs BC. And isnt that what you want? You get to March right there with a chance to make your own conference tournament. This team can do it.

The sooner this ends, the better

You know this season has gone down the toilet when you start seeing how many games Pitt needs to win just to qualify for the ACC tournament. That’s starting to look like Pitt’s only path to the NCCA tournament at this point is winning it and this Pitt team has given me zero confidence that they would have any chance to do that.

This is my second favorite thread of yours behind the FS2/Chicago St thread.

Huge loss by NC St. They and BC fall to 2-10. Our ACCT hopes are looking good.

If we count out Miami, we got 10 teams playing for 8 spots.

1. VT 6-7
2. Pitt, FSU 5-7
4. Syr, Cal, GT, UVa 5-8
8. UVa 4-8
_____
9. BC, NC St 2-10

That head to head loss vs UVa may come back to bite us. Could come down to March 5 @ NC St and March 8 vs BC.

Huge game Saturday. Miami is surging. A loss to them would be problematic for our ACC Tournament chances. We probably need 1 more win to feel real good about our chances of making it to Charlotte.

We're gonna lose out. I've said that for weeks now.

Miami is surging.
Pitt beats Miami....no doubt....yes, if you have one win and you get another that is a "surge" but c'mon, a little coaching and Miami will be out of control, they had no idea how to break the old "Blue Press" kids learn in junior high at the end of the game last night.....

No way Pitt beats Miami.

An awesome ending to a dream season!

Last 4 In
Pitt
Cal
Syr
ND

1st 3 Out
BC
NC St
Miami

Pitt has a head to head over Cal, which is helpful but also has to play the other 5 teams on this list, meaning they are in danger of losing those head to head tiebreakers. Getting to Charlotte won't be easy but if this team turns it around, I could see them in one of those coveted Tuesday afternoon slots.

Could the season finale vs BC be a play-in, play-out clincher? Oh, the drama! The world will be watching with keen interest.

I know this is wishful thinking, but we will be favored in 6 of our last 7. If we won those 6 and got to 11-9, we have to hope we avoid the 8/9 seed and unwinnable quarterfinal game vs Duke. 1 through 5 are pretty much locked. We'd have to have Stanford and UNC lose some. Stanford plays at Duke, at Lou, and home vs SMU so maybe we can tie them at 11-9 and get the 6 or 7 seed. That's important because in that scenario, if we were to beat the 10 or 11 and then beat Clem or Lou in the quarters, that COULD get us in.

Going 6-1, beating the 10/11 seed and then having essentially a play-in Quad 1 game shouldn't be impossible

Into the NCAA tournament???? I think you're losing it. There isn't a single thing about this team right now that would cause for tournament consideration. A run through the ACC tournament (0.1% chance) is the only way this bunch of quitters makes it into the dance.

Well, yea, they certainly don't have the look of an NCAA Tournament team. But 6-1 + 2-1 probably gets them in. I didn't say that I think they'd do it.

Also, winning the ACC Tournament would be infinitesimally harder than winning these last 7, which would get them in. I realize we aren't going to win these last 7 but its stupid to say winning the ACCT is our only way in. For one, it's impossible. And it's easier to beat these 6 teams, 4 at home that we are favored over and then hope the great Pat Kelsy Dynastic Team gets Covid and we win in Derby City.

It's always a marathon & not a sprint.

I just find these posts a bit comical coming from someone that declared a single game back in early January a must win for Pitt's NCAA tourney hopes.

Crazy shit can & does happen every year.

I am 3 for 3 in the last 3 years of making a season prediction based on 1 early-ish season game. My only fault this year was that we are going to miss it by more than that game.

Miami will beat us and it will probably be by double digits. All they have to do is keep our guards out of the lane. Everyone knows it now. Plus Clevelend will score 30+ because we will not play defense.

Its hard to disagree. Miami has better players and are playing better. But I stupidly think we beat ACC #18 on our home court.
