Could this be Duke and NC not wanting to dilute the pot? Amazing we let a few teams dictate the league! Yankees will rise again!

The rich will get richer.....if you are one of the best players at your position in the league on a team that is is mostly found in the lower third, poof!!!, you are now on a final four type team.

I agree that the blue bloods confederate teams will prevent their own players from transferring inter conference. I think this rule screams of favoritism! Go yankees!

While I think this rule change is a terrible idea, I am not convinced that it helps the upper echelon of the league more than the lower positioned teams. Among other things, Duke's bench's stars now have more options. Krzyzewski is likely to continue to recruit over his bench players, and there is a lot of talent on that bench. In the past, those players have transferred to schools outside the ACC. Now, they may see the possibility of increased playing time within the conference. Additionally, the experiences of these elite recruits may serve as a cautionary tale for those considering transferring to a school like Duke. (Also, the success of graduate transfers to Duke and/or UNC has been somewhat mixed. For every starter/significant sub, there has been another with a seat at the end of the bench.)

^^^^ Agreed....this looks like to top teams wanting to prevent players wanting to transfer to another ACC school and coming back to haunt them. Duke and UNC have really good players sitting on their bench that would be starting for many other ACC teams....including Pitt

Wait, they instituted a rule that says that if you transfer inside the conference that you don't have to sit out a year, and you get out of that that the blue bloods will prevent their own players from transferring inter-conference?

OK, I'll bite. Just how, exactly, are they going to do that?

I was going to say - this is the opposite of helping them
