1. If Lopes was any good he would've played last year when we were starving for a #2 WR;We don't know how good our true freshman WR's will be. Plus Lopes, the juco WR from last year. I'm still not sold this is a huge loss. I know everyone looks at the 4 star rating, but I look at his numbers. Nothing major his freshman year at Maryland. Juco numbers no better than Lopes. He may be a 4 star that just never pans out. It happens all the time.
2. Winfree was a productive receiver for a power 5 program as a true freshman. He also played at one of the top JUCO football factories in the country, with and against a bunch of other future P5 players. Comparing their JUCO numbers is probably the least accurate way to compare their respective abilities.
3. This is a big loss, unless the kid waffles again and comes back before LOI day.
This is the problem with all of these kinds of players, we see it every year. When you're taking someone else's problem child you ha e to expectt this kind of thing. This Clark kid is another one. I understand he's enrolled right now but that doesn't mean he'll ever step foot on the field for Pitt. He is just as likely to end up out of football and going to community college innNew Hampshire by the time the 2017 season starts. Same with Cole, the Michigan kid who's trying to figure out his next move. These guys are worth going after, but you can't count on them to live up to their end of the bargain.
