Coaching salaries are going through the roof, not surprised one bit that schools are chasing another revenue stream.

This is NOT to say whether Pitt should or shouldn't sell beer, but here's an article on Texas AD Steve Patterson. Basically, he is a guy obsessed with the bottom line who hasn't made too many friends in his brief time there. So, I wouldn't necessarily take Texas doing this as a harbinger of things to come. I wouldn't mind beer at Pitt, but Texas now isn't necessarily what Texas used to be in terms of just generating a gross amount of revenue based off of bandwagon fans and alumni -- they're trying to squeeze every ounce of money out of their athletics that they can. I'm not sure Pitt would do that. Wouldn't mind if they did, though, that's for sure.
