OK, Young, Artis and Robinson might just be our big three (if what we saw on Robinson against Kent State was not a fluke) but we can't expect to see them go 22 for 33 (and 10 for 10 from the FT line) every game, and especially against the likes of Purdue, like they did against Kent State.

So, the question is, where are we gonna get some more scoring otherwise?

Dixon had been going with a 12 man rotation but shortened it down mightily (at least in terms of minutes) in the game against Kent State.

Jeter is our best scorer otherwise, but Dixon can't seem to find where to play him. The apparent plan was to play Young at C some opening up more minutes for Jeter at PF.... but I am not sure that is such a good idea now... MY seems to be more comfortable not having to play C at all. So, maybe Dixon should consider having Jeter spell BOTH Young and Artis... with Slim coming off the bench at SG.

The thing about Chris Jones... is he seems to be inconsistent.... was just 2-7 against Kent State after a good game against Detroit. So, maybe playing Slim there also would help things there along the lines of... play the hot hand.

Of course, the situation at C is still a mess. ANO has not put in a solid game yet and... Luther is undersized and makes so many bad plays out there... getting beat.... ya gotta wonder why Dixon hasn't played ANO and Maia more. And of course, Maia does not appear to be in game shape. But, I don't think playing Young at C is the answer.... as it just wears him down and we need him at full speed.

Lastly... seemed like we had two options to spell Robinson... Milligan or Wilson... and against Kent State... it was kinda like... 'none of the above'.... Dixon played Robinson 36 minutes. Wilson seems like the better player long term at PG but right now, Milligan is probably gonna get you some points so seems to me that, right now, Dixon would be better off going with Milligan.

In short, this team still has some 'issues' that need to be resolved... and we get to see how good a job Dixon does at resolving them.

-Spread this Purdue team out. Florida can't shoot the basketball into the ocean and somehow they are comparable to Pitt. Please. Florida doesnt have any firepower on offense.

-I would go small in this game. Athletic ability and speed vs strength and height. Slim can't rebound that well. I want to see Luther and Sterling Smith getting a little extra run. Smith-Artis-Young at the 2-3-4 spreading out that entire Purdue defense. Smith is the guy that can open this game up.

Artis is shooting 46% from 3
Slim is shooting 50% from 3
Smith is shooting 62% from 3
Wilson is shooting 60% from 3

Florida has the 85th best offense in the country in true raw efficiency and can't shoot the 3 to save their life. Pitt is #1 right now, in the entire country, in true offensive efficiency.

I cannot wait to see Pitt's offense go up against a Top 10 defense in Purdue. I don't think people really know just how good we are on offense, yet.

I would also play a triangle and 2 defense, but I dont think Dixon has the stones to do that. It would be a great defensive strategy to try.

for a variety of reasons...one being I know the Purdue team decent is that it would take a horrible game for a triangle and two to be effective against Purdue. It might be a few second thing at the end of the game, but over the long haul I don't think Purdue is the team you want to play that way.

Not sure just how good Purdue is defensively. Davis is the tone setter for D though and he may not play.. Every practice Purdue plays small ball. However, Davis is a part of that. If that were to happen...Swanigan goes to the 5 (could do some with AJ against the right opposing lineup), Edwards goes to the 4 where he played last year. The pg is either Hill or Thompson no matter what and the 2 adn 3 spots are between Davis, Stephens, Mathias, Cline...although under the right scenario Hill could play the 1 and PJ play a 2 even though he is undersized and not the desirable position for him. Purdue practices small ball, but huge ball is where they are best. I look for a good game no matter whether Davis plays or not. I just hope the refs don't ruin it. I've sat in teh stands at Purdue where it average a foul every 30 seconds and that just isn't fun for the fans or players. Keep the call consistent inside and out so the players know what to expect.

well, in this clip it appears that Davis is testing it a little. He is in the dark shirt shooting. The gold shirt is Stephens...a streak shooter, but if he gets on a run...10 ft behind the line is not too far. Problem is...he is inconsistent...
