Why are people on this board so enamored by this guy. What did he do at UConn that would make you think he’s a great player or a can’t miss.

I kinda agree. Would prefer someone injury free that an play. A more varied offensive game might help as well.
Supposedly another (unknown) forward visited at the time Akok did.
We need to add players soon. The flow to the transfer portal has stopped.

I don't think anyone is mistaking him for Charles Barkley, but it's a matter of him being one of the best realistic options left for us.
I would say it’s less what he’s done thus far but more so that he could be intriguing with a larger role. When he enrolled early guys like Seth Davis were banging the drum for him to pull something like Sharpe did this year and just go straight to the draft, so at one point we were talking about a high end talent. I wouldn’t have expected him to be an all league player but it was certainly worth a shot on a guy who has/had that level of talent.
So if I hear you all correctly since he’s not coming to pitt this recruiting class is an F. Capels success all hinged on Akok
