Akok News....

Hard to find a better situation as a one and done than an ACC program in a major market, with a roster situation where you can walk in the door and play as many minutes as you want, under a coach who has coached god knows how many one and done lottery picks.

I never thought Akok would be the 1 and done type. If so, I am not as high on him because I doubt we are an NCAAT with him next year. I want guys who will be here in 2020-21 and it appears he wont be

Well, whether we would be an NCAAT team with him would depend on who else might be added for 2019. If, for example we landed Wahab and he was in the post with Akok as the 4, we might very well be good enough to make the NCAAT next season.

That would assume Wahab is ready from Day 1. Big guys rated where he is still take a little time.
That wet blanket you carry must be heavy.

Wahab would step in and start but if you are expecting a big guy rated around 100 to step in and be a huge difference maker from Day 1 you are wrong. Perhaps in rebounding as that's more of an inherent skill. I would love to get this guy but I would not be counting on him to be a huge factor in the ACC next season.

Tim O'Toole has a fantastic reputation for developing bigs as well. It'd be a good situation for him all around.

I think you take him and worry about 2019 or 2020 success after. We need bigs. Desperately. Even if he's only here for 1 year and we're a bubble team, it's ok because it takes some of the heat off Capel and allows him to to work on relationships with other bigs down the line. Keep in mind that lots of these guys are pursued for years. With just under a year to sign him, Capel is way behind. I'm normally not a fan of 1-and-dones, but in this case it's almost a break the glass type emergency so you have to take him.
