Within an hour of TCU firing Thompson two weeks ago, I started a thread here about it only meaning one thing... Dixon is gone.
I was half being sarcastic, but my spider sense thought it was a possibility then.
Jamie was not handling the pressure here well. Pressure he largely put on himself.
Well, they all gave him a pass when he was asked about it in a press conference right after TCU fired that guy.
And he laughed and said something to the effect of "yeah, is that who it is this week" while dismissing it as just another rumor.
In fairness, I didn't think much of it at the time either. But clearly he was being less than honest to the media at that time, not being critical of him either that's part of the business.

I posted in January Dixon could leave for TCU and OSU may be willing to allow Thad Matta to leave so they can get Greg Marshall. We'll see if the rest of that comes true.
Heck...I was chastised for suggesting Matta was on the hot seat at OSU when I posted that in December....
I don't think anyone on this board is a professional reporter/sports guy and almost everything I read on here was to the effect of "not happening" and that was from Zeise for one as late as yesterday sunrise.

Not at all....but no one in the Pittsburgh media had anything that resembled a clue.
I hope this puts to rest any question as to whether anyone in the Pgh media has the chops to investigate and report on a story.
All they ever do on Pitt is report what someone else broke and give their uninformed opinions.
