Just remember absolutely loving to watch our hoops team, posting, reading on the board…Attending home games, Watch Parties hosted by DT, PittGirl and the like at Rock Bottom cafe. Great times, well we are back at Rock Bottom. Capel and recruit decent but lacks any real coaching abilities to not have 5 4 star players on his roster. And in the day of Portal and NIL, it’s over Johnny! I will sit back and think fondly of the good old days, not realizing that we were in the midst of them (top tier Big East basketball). Now, it’s like, who effing cares. We suck and don’t have enough billionaires, millionaires, to make a difference! Maybe I’ll watch reruns on you tube of the glory days!

College sports is essentially over for the Panthers.

I think Pitt has enough whales, just not enough of the ones that have a passion for college athletics. It's really tough for Pitt football, but Pitt basketball has a competitive NIL for their league. This team should probably be a little better than how they have performed this year.

TD - serious hypothetical question: if Capel had the same roster this season as Jon Scheyer, would he have coached them to similar results?

I realize my question is unrealistic, and probably can't be answered objectively. I propose it, I guess, perhaps to see who here believes more in the coach or the collective of elite players. I certainly believe it's the combination of both, but it'll be interesting to see what reaction this gets from others on the board

With this particular collection of talent at Duke, I think the wins and losses would be similar. This Duke team is so much more talented than Scheyer's first two Duke teams. They just overwhelm opponents with their size and length. Cooper & Kon are so skilled. Proctor is such a great distributor, (hope the knee injury is nothing serious) and now throw in Evans as another legit scorer, along with their bigs... There's just not a team that can even compare to them in the ACC.

Although I think wins and losses would be similar with this particular Duke team, without question I trust Scheyer to max out their potential over Capel.

FWIW, this Duke team would absolutely roll UK & Kansas if they played today, imo.
