Amazing stat about Narduzzi and his time at Pitt

More amazingly, Narduzzi has gone 2 full seasons without a WTF loss. Before him, you can chalk up 1- 2 WTF losses per year.

He's only lost 1 game as a favorite and that was against a 2015 Miami team that clearly had better players than us but were an underdog to their players playing below capacity and their interim coach. They were a hard team to guage.

I remember three WTF alone in 2014 (Akron, G Tech, and Houston in the bowl). Were there any others?

That Georgia Tech game was an absolute trainwreck from the start. I've never seen a team as unprepared to play as we were on that day. We were always notoriously slow starters under Chryst.

Certainly glad those WTF days seem to be over.

I do. If you look at HCPN's track record he's always been a very loyal guy. I won't say he's a lifer but I'd be very surprised if he left earlier than five or six years provided he gets full admin support/pay raises for him and his assistants/etc...

Do you see HCPN and staff being here a long time? Do you see extensions/raises after this season?
I take Coach Narduzzi at his Word and he has backed it up by actions of not just about himself an his legacy from is Father but also how he wants his Staff to stay at Pitt.

Words Matter Especially To his Players:

Exhibit 1: When he came to Pitt he said he waited for the Pitt Job!

Exhibit 2: Hamlin Committed Based On Coach Pat telling him he stays at Pitt!

Exhibit 3: YSU President Jim Tressel Said Pitt found A Coach That Wants To Stay At Pitt A Long Time and Tressel is from Youngstown!

I spend much time in Youngstown and have many Friends and they all talk about him how he always wanted the Pitt Head Coaching Job! He loves this regions and in his 50's is not looking to go anywhere except Rebuild The Pitt Football Program.

One can see the fire in his Eyes, dedication to his Players, and he is man of few words and more deeds, and why I Highlight Quotes in Red when I put up Posts Linked to make other Posters Think!

It would surprise me if Coach Pat would change and decide otherwise.

I also take away from this data that Pitt is not having a WTF game as we seemingly always do

In addition.....how many times has Pitt had a big win...only to follow up with a WTF loss?

The notion that Pitt can go to Clemson and knock off the Tigers and then come home and win two games rather decisively tells me we have in fact turned the corner, and the Narduzzi era is now ready to grow.

UPITT 89...i know you believe i am an AHole....and I concur with that assessment. Nevertheless, great work on your part.

Thanks

Why do you think I think you are an AHole?

I don't.

Totally agree about the wtf games. Part of inching forward was eliminating those as much as beating Clemson, ND etc. The temples, uconns, akrons, toledos, bowling greens, youngstowns, ohios did so much damage. Its reared its ugly head a couple times, but so far this staff has mostly avoided them.

Akron was really the only one, as far as losing to a team that Pitt had no business losing to.
Georgia Tech didn't fit that bill, it was just the notorious manner in which they lost which stands out. Same with Houston (which Chryst actually didn't coach)

Um.

YOUNGSTOWN FREAKING STATE.

Geez.

I was talking only about 2014, since that was what Captain Murphy asked about.

Thought about listing all of them since 2001, but figured why put myself through that?
As it is, I would say only 2011, 2002, and maybe 2004 were the only seasons where Pitt didn't have that kind of loss.
Edit....2009 was probably a maybe season also.

Got this from Dokish, of all places.

His record is 16-9.

Here's the records of the 9 teams that have beaten him:

12-2
11-3
10-3
8-5
11-2
9-2
9-3
8-4
8-4

Total: 86-28

It is funny how none of the nitter posters on this board chime into a thread like this.
