Aminu Mohammed (2021)

I think he has to throw his hat in on a few guys and land one here and there just as along as they don't put to much emphasis on them and forget about the 3 & 4 star guys that we need to build the program.

I would be BEYOND shocked if Shawn didn’t package him with his son Zion.

Zion already committed to Western Kentucky, though. Are you saying that's where you expect Mohammed to wind up or do you think it's not firm? Aside from that, I don't think Zion Harmon really needs to be packaged. Mohammed is more highly ranked, but Harmon is top 40 in the composite and had blue bloods going hard after him before Stansbury showed him the bag.

Correct. Shawn ain’t sending this kid to school for free and Zion’s recruitment ain’t ova til he’s on a campus

Just don’t want to see a repeat of JCs first recruiting class where he wasted all that time going after top 20 players for nothing.

Capel has two top 100 recruits in 2020 and a top 30 in 2022. Now that he's demonstrating the ability to close on top 100 guys, he should be putting more emphasis on the truly elite kids. You won't win many of those battles, but I'm sure he understands the difference between someone you have a puncher's chance with and somebody that isn't worth more than a Zoom meeting or an unofficial visit. He was handicapped by several factors his first year so I don't think there's much of a comparison to be made. Totally different circumstances.

I feel like this is a waste of resources.
I’m not picking on you, but when the football team targets attainable players with offers from MAC schools and Temple, the majority of the board complains that we aren’t targeting better players. Now we have a coach at Pitt who is targeting top players and somehow it draws criticism. Maybe just maybe we should just trust the coaches who have been in the business their entire lives.

Jesus. Didn’t realize this was an old thread. Lol. I thought it was a play on Clark Griswold’s mother-in-law when the lights failed.
