Pitt alumnus Eric Mobley to his staff. Eric happens to be a top AAU coach and the father of two top recruits in high school. Any reason Pitt hasn’t hired or at least nurtured this relationship in the past. Or is it just another example of Pedersons hate for anything from Pitt that cake before him?

It’s a different Eric Mobley. Not the one who played at Pitt.

Damn haha. We should still hire the guy. But my apologies to our former athletic director in the meantime

Isn’t this the coach who’s wife is from s. cal and didn’t want to come east like 3 years ago?

We should cultivate relationships with every Eric Mobley!
Junie Lewis has a third cousin (twice removed) that is tearing it up coaching in a Boston parochial league that Pitt has shown no interest in whatsoever. This is something more than lack of due diligence it is disgraceful negligence.

I feel like Mobley should have been better than he was. I just looked up his stats, he had a nice final year of 13+ PPG with 8 RPG but his first two years were very lackluster.

on the other hand, dude was a first rd pick in nba so maybe im full of s***.

What numbers did SAdams put up ?

much worse. we know dude couldn't score but his Rebounds per game were quite low for someone who was his height. I seriously think Wannamaker had more rebounds per game than Adams.

He could block shots, I think that was about it, at pitt anyways.

PTS 7.2

TRB 6.3

AST 0.6

growing pains as a freshman. Numbers and production you endure so when he's a sophomore, you reap the rewards. oh wait, it's pitt, he'll go to the NBA and sit for 2 years then become very good.

I have fond memories of Mobley physically abusing Constantine Popa.

It’s not easy to only shoot 56.8% from the field when well over half of your baskets are dunks.

Almost incredible that he had more assists (55) than non-dunk FG’s (52) his final season.

Considering the amazing number of missed dunks we've seen in this NCAAT, I can well see that.

A tick over 2.0 assists per game is actually pretty good for a guy like Mobley. A tick under 2.0 non-dunk baskets per game, eh, not so much.

NBA teams draft bigs based on measurables and perceived upside, not college production. Adams is currently averaging close to a double-double in his age 24 season and he's second in the NBA in offensive rebounds so I'd say that the Thunder were clearly onto something taking him with a lottery pick.
