Announced crowd

Its fairly easy to estimate attendance. The lower bowl seats about 30K. You could have fit everyone in the lowe bowl easily. 15K-20K. There were only 200 people in the upper deck endzone and about 1000 in the away side upper deck. A crowd of 46K means the lower bowl and home upper deck were close to 100% full.

People need to think this through. 46,000 people means that two out of every three seats in the building were full. If we leave the student sections out of this and maybe a couple of the club level sections, let's say we just consider the "regular" seating sections, were there ANY sections in the whole stadium that were 2/3 full? No, of course not. Not even close. In fact none of those sections were even half full. Many (most) weren't even a quarter full.

The number of actual people there yesterday might have started with a "2", but if it didn't it was because it started with a "1", not a "3" or, laughably, a "4".

So you have no idea how many people were there and are part of the problem. The people who don’t show up are why Pitt is ridiculed.
Cause of chemo doctors advise me that it wouldn't be a good idea.
But next year I'll be there for every game no matter what!!!
I'm a diehard I'll be damn if I miss my PANTHERS next year!!?
Always H2P FOREVER!!!

There is no way on God's earth that 46K tickets were scanned yesterday. I have a hard time believing that 46K tickets were even sold.

And no, I didn't go. It was just too miserable. Sorry if that offends anyone.

Anyhow, I don't know why they even bother to announce an attendance. All it does is bring ridicule upon themselves. Most of the announced numbers are total nonsense.
I was there. Maybe I missed it but I did not hear them announce the attendance.
But if you were there then ; WHO GIVES A DAMN.
The place was electric, the students were great and Pitt kicked the crap out of Louisville.
Attendance figures and statistics are for whiners, losers and those people who have an ax to grind with Pitt.
So, keep bitching and you’ll continue to feel better about yourself.
Hail to Pitt. I’m

Hope you are doing better!

Thank you for asking
Igot great news from doctor
Cancer in remission. They want me to continue chemo for 5 more times (2 times a month). They want make sure that there's no microscope cells in body that can cause it to come back

Always H2P FOREVER!!!

Sorry if that offends anyone.

Sorry if that upsets you.
No one is offended or upset because you weren't there, in fact maybe some one moved into your seats and enjoyed the view if you were not able to dump them off. Buying tickets IS supporting Pitt so even if you can't make it all the time you are appreciated.
With a loud crowd of 46, 000 + a few regulars deciding to stay home did not harm the team in any way.

That is too hard for some people which is why I say think of it as a 45Kish seat stadium with no upper deck endzone and no visiting side upper deck. Imagine moving those people to the lower bowl. So 46K means moving those people would have packed every seat in the lower bowl or home upper deck

Of 46,626. I believe that !
NCAA allows schools to count attendance by either "Actual Attendance" which is how many fans get into the stadium/game with a ticket or by "Paid Attendance" which is basically tickets sold for that game (it's a little more complicated than that but I'm not going into detail) ..... I suspect Pitt announces "Paid Attendance" which would include ~30,000-35,000 season tickets, 5,000-10,000 student tickets, some visiting fan tickets, and some single game tickets bought, etc. ...... if you don't go to the game but bought a ticket, most count in "Paid Attendance" (there are some tickets bought that don't count unless you attend the game depending on how much they cost compared to the highest paid ticket).

Didn’t go to the UNC or UL game. Missing UNC broke my streak of 10 straight Pitt home games dating back to 2021. Also went to the Miami game down in FL last November. I’ll be there for FSU & BC, no doubt

FWIW, the NFL makes teams announce paid attendance now. That shifted last season I think during the middle of the year. Pitt definitely does the same.

I know they're firmly against tarps, but downsizing the stadium would be pretty cool. I'm all for putting more students in the lower level and compacting the season tickets on the visitors side. There are too many empty seats over there, get the students around the corner for a few extra sections.

Downsize and get the cameras facing the home side.

Pitt most definitely does not announce actual paid attendance. Pitt announces total tickets distributed.

And frequently adds on from there.
