I am still jacked up from the win and cant sleep. I'm watching Pitt Live Wire with Washington State/Boise State on in the background.

I"m just so sick and tired of hideous clock management. Head coaches have proven at every level.......YOU CANNOT MANAGE THE CLOCK. PLEASE STOP TRYING. Have a GA, intern, or a Statistics major do it. You have other important stuff to do.

So, WSU is down 3

1st and 10 at their own 36. 42 seconds left. 1 TO left. The QB makes a bad decision and throws it to the RB coming out of the backfield, presumably because his other WRs werent immediately open. Doesn't get close to getting out of bounds. He's tackled with 34 seconds left for no gain. OK, so call your last TO and instruct your QB to only throw sideline passes or sure first down passes from now on, right? Nope.

WSU scrambles to the line of scrimmage, remarkably quick, actually and snaps the ball with 23 seconds but nobody knows what they are doing since it was such a quick reset and they run a garbage play that goes incomplete. 18 seconds left.

Next play, they throw a 9 yard completion that's very close to a 1st Down but just short. WSU thinks its a 1st Down but its not and they dont immediately realize it. They wait until 5 seconds left to call a TO.

So, from when they had it 1st and 10 at the 36 with 1 TO with 42 seconds left, they advanced the ball 9 yards in 3 plays and used 37 seconds.

The Hail Mary doesnt come close to the endzone and they lose.

Head coaches: please let someone else do it. Heck, I'll do it. I'm better at it and I dont have to worry about play calls, formations, personnel, etc.

Leach looked like an idiot here, no excuse for it. The no TO was bad enough, but the Hail Mary to the 20 yard line was embarrassing.

They kept showing Leach on the sideline and at no time did he show any real urgency or emotion. Boise had kind of let off the gas and were ripe for the taking, this was supposed to be a good Wazzu team and now they're sitting at 0-2.

I'm going to do this all year. I'm so sick of it.

The Oklahoma State game was bad too (even though the refs blew the endgame). Why not take the snap, turn and run back then go down? Or line up in punt formation and have the punter run off the time and slide down. That was 4 seconds and it had nearly expired when he threw the pass. Also, Gundy needs to know that rule. (I didn't know it, but I'm not paid millions to know it either). He needed to vehemently protest to the officials that the game is over, get them to speak with the league head of officials, whatever. But that needs to be clarified before the ball is set for the untimed down. If he asks them to clarify the rule (and knows the rule), I would think they would verify before setting the ball for play?

And right on cue we just witnessed Belichick screw up using his final TO. He was bailed out by the missed FG, but an obvious blooper on his part.

You are so right about this - these coaches have countless assistants and graduate assistants and whatnot, and access to all kinds of technology, and can't seem to make basic competent decisions about clock management. And they don't coach their players about it either - witness the qb's who throw passes that gain nothing, while keeping the clock running.

I don't understand why a RB is sent out in that kind of pattern, he's better off being kept in for protection. If the WRs aren't open the QB throws it away, end of discussion.
