Another great post game quote

At the risk of stating the obvious, there’s no excuse for this rubbish. You don’t need on ounce of talent to make an effort. Ridiculous.

Toney plays with effort
Honestly so does Xavier- regardless of his flaws

unfortunately 2 players trying all the time equals losing
Horton tries but is limited defensively
Justin doesn’t try at all on defense - I mean at all.

akc plays with effort but is over matched
Same with femi -but he’s offensively limited

Brown doesn’t try
Trying is working for positioning and boxing out
I’m 6’4” and over weight -
I have literally little doubt I could clear out brown and secure a rebound
He plays so small

Head in the clouds Brown prolly at least thinks he’s playing hard. I don’t think he knows how to box out.

Remember when JJ Moore would check in, immediately chuck a hopeless 3, and get promptly sat back on the bench? Remember how many fans cried "let them play!" back then?

Our guys really have no idea why they lose, that is why they can't learn from their mistakes.

After each game, the answer is the same because they really don't know what to say. So, the obligatory, "we need to play harder" is said. How about we need to play defense for a full 30 seconds, or we need to be better with help defense, or we need to box out better, or we need to stop making so many stupid decisions, or we need to stop turning the ball over so much, or we need to stop having 2 T's/game. If we actually realized that any of these were costing us games, maybe we could fix it.

Correct
Their answers reflect a clueless coaching staff who isn’t teaching them how to play winning basketball

And the accountability for that is ultimately with the coaches. Yes, the players have to play and do those things on the court. But the coaches must drill the basics into the players' heads so they are second nature. Right now, these coaches aren't doing their jobs in any facets of the game....X's and O's, development, recruiting.

As a Penguins fan...this reminds me so many times of quotes of "we didn't play a full game, we need to play a full game". After too many of those, they change coaches. Then they play full games and win championships until they tune out that guy and it starts all over again.
