Another local wrestler gone...

From what I understand, Va wants Beistel (Southmoreland) too. I was told they're willing to offer him a nice percentage of money, to go there. I wonder if that ship has sailed.

For next year? We have Jake Wentzel and Austin Bell committed.
Neither are ranked in the top 50 in the class of 2016. That doesn't mean they aren't good wrestlers, but not in the top recruits from western Pa.

Out of curiousity, where are you reading that? I've literally never seen Young ahead of Wentzel.

Intermat (Post-PIAA's in April): Wentzel (5th at 152), Young (10th at 152), incoming ASU freshman Maruca (12th at 152)
Flo: (August update): Wentzel (8th at 152), Young (#10 at 160).
PAPW (September update with Phillipi commitment, using college projections): Wentzel (5th at 157), Young (10th at 157).
Associated Wrestling Press/Ohio Wrestling News (August update): Wentzel (26th overall in 2016), Young (#43 overall in 2016)

Interestingly, AWP/OWN even has Austin Bell (#40 overall) ahead of Young (#43 overall).

I think pretty much every site has Wentzel ranked above Young. But, every site I have seen has Lehigh, VT and UVA ranked ahead of Pitt -- and that was before the Phillipi commitment and the #26 wrestler per Intermat committing to Lehigh.

In the pound for pound top 100 seniors on Intermat, Jake Wentzel is ranked 34 and Bell is ranked 93. Both are quality guys with some big time wins against good competition. With regards to additions to this class there is another top 50 kid that just committed that is a real hammer. He will help us in the future for sure. I'm not at liberty to mention his name. I haven't really seen him do any interview with Flo or Intermat, he doesn't seem to seek attention. I've met him, he's a good kid. I am assuming either his high school coach or his family will report the commitment to intermat and flowrestling in the near future and it will be public. I'm very excited for this one. H2P.

It looks like they just did yesterday. Chris(tian) Dietrich commits to Pitt.

Flo currently has him #3 nationally at 195 (update 9/23). Wrestling varsity since 7th grade. Won a NY state title as Sophomore at 182. Attending Wyoming Seminary this year. OWN has him at #31 overall for 16'.

Him, Noah, Te'Shan, Solomon, Bell - that's a lot of options in the upperweights! Hell of a job by the staff, as I've read he's very familiar with Cornell.

Good catch Sing. I didn't see the announcement. He will be a 184 pounder for sure. He is short but a real powerhouse. When he wrestles up at 195 its just to help the team. He competes at tournaments at 182. The list of upper weights is a very good one, but I would tell you that Noah isn't with the team. He gave up wrestling. Just didn't like it like his two brothers. Dietrich will fit in very well here. True tough guy.

Hey, that was all you - I just followed up.

The talent/roster flexibility his team has is absurd - you can tell Sem feels good about their team by the way they scheduled

Appreciate the info on Noah, as well.
