It might be me but the other requirement that seems to be a factor is that the mentality of these players is "Coach, I'll play wherever, get me on the field" which indicates a love for the game and serves the "culture" well, and matches HCPN's personality. The linebacker who says the coaches have mentioned TE to him is another example, a TE with a linebacker's mentality is a good combination, IMO.

Collier said he's 99% coming in as a TE. Doesn't mean he won't move, but that is what he's been lead to believe.

His film says 2 things. 1. He looks a lot like Eric Green running and catching the ball and 2. He looks like an ultra athletic OT who can be a punishing blocker.

I like this kid a lot.

Might be what he's coming as like O'Neill, but kids that are this big already before their senior year only get bigger. Collier will be 270 by the time he gets to Pitt (if he's not there already). And when his upper body catches up to his lower body, he'll be 290 plus. He looks a lot like O'Neill, but bigger and not as fluid of a runner.

He won't be there long. It seemed that everyone that good a look at him offered. He ends up in top 1000 on 247's composite ranking.

He's already a 3* elsewhere.

He doesn't yet have a rating anywhere else. The 247 Composite just translates a Rivals 5.4 into a 3*. But the Rivals rating so far is the only rating he has.

O'Neil was Delaware player of the year in h.s. Collier (not sure he plays
basketball) is already much bigger than O'Neil was in h.s. Playing TE like O'Neil did
tells me he'll be an OL (tackle) despite his saying he's coming in as a TE.
270 now, before his senior year indicates that he is definitely going to get bigger.
He's also 6'7." A frame like that can easily add 20-30 lbs or more.
We have a grad transfer coming in, plus a JUCO ready a year from now with two years of eligibility. We also have a few other TE offers out there who would add to our numbers.
There are also three players already in school, one or maybe two of those, (Reeves
and Carrigan) might also move to the OL. Numbers at this position will cease to be a
problem starting with the upcoming season.

Pretty clear they're trying a strategy of converting big TEs into OTs. Carrigan will be at OT by camp and maybe Reeves too. This kid has OT written all over him just as O'Neill did when PC brought him in.

It's pretty hard to get high end OT recruits, so it looks like they will go after big athletic kids and teach them to play OT.

I said this in another post that he will be an OT. Sure they will give him a shot “wink wink” at TE but he will end up being an athletic OT. Already has the frame at 6’7” and at 270 won’t have to add a ton of weight. O’Neill was only 230 when he arrived at Pitt. I like the strategy.
