Another Pittsburgh academic institution botches a search.

On channel two tonight they had a story on this, and apparently the search firm told Andy Sheehan that it wasn't a part of their job to actually check anyone's resume.

Does anyone know how I can get a gig like that?

Evidently whoever was responsible for this search or the firm who delivered us the esteemed OJ Haywood. Good luck in your job search.

UPS knows a thing or two about legal issues!
No they don't, they keep hiring lawbreakers, first Sandusky, then Franklin, who covered up rape at Vandy then the chancellor, (what ever his or her name is) from Florida st. who was involved the Winston sexual abuse case, do they really know anything about legal issues? Or do they go after those involved and hire them?

A while back I was part of a hiring team for a new consultant. (I worked for one of the Big 4 Accounting Firms.) He was presented to us from a search firm and supposedly carefully vetted. After a couple of incidents that rubbed me the wrong way, I pulled up his resume and called the last company he had listed. Asked for HR and confirmed he had never resigned from his previous position. He was working both jobs at the same time. It's not like either position was low level either. I remember my mouth literally dropping open. Shocking how much people try to get away with.

On another note my oldest had an internship with Good Year last year - they called every single employer he has had - beginning with Soergel's Orchards. Vetting is not rocket science, just tedious.

The SUPERintendent will do fine. He didn't lie on his resume. They were just minor rounding errors. Remember, all these school SUPERintendent search firms have stables of candidates (each of whom comes with a bag of tricks to "turn schools around") that they trot before boards that hire them and after a few years pay them to go away.

I tweeted something of the following yesterday: "I know this will not be popular, and sounding like Wendy Bell, but if Hamlet was white, he would be fired or there would be protests." And yes, people retweeted me saying that that was wrong. No it is isn't. I am tired of speaking the truth on race is being labled as a racist or xenophobic. No, it is just being honest.

So, I ask all of you, if Hamlet was white a) would he have been hired and b) if so, would there be protests and uproar?
