Any Med folks in the house?

Was wondering about Hamlins injury (sports hernia). Is this the same injury from his senior year at Central Catholic? If so, it's over a year and he was not been able to play in the bowl game.

For the Med folks: Is this the same as an inguinal hernia? If so, has he had surgery yet? I have had 4 inguinal surgeries and had to have a surgery for each with about a 6 week rehab time. Now they can do arthroscopic surgery for repair. Just wondering why this injury is taking so long.

Reading between the lines- it's the same injury. They were struggling to figure out why it wasn't healing so brought in specialists. Thought it was better so he played a bit but maybe not.
