Guilty, but with reservations. I wanted him as HC, but not two years ago. We eventually hired a guy who was accused of physical abuse; his place was taken by The Fraud who never wanted to be here. The other candidates who were being mentioned aren't even worth mentioning now.

Given the names that were being tossed around in those days, Bradley really didn't look too bad. But this was prior to the shat hitting the fan, of course. Luckily, Pitt insiders knew what was being whispered and nixed that deal.

Bradley is a big bag of wind, he stepped into a ready made successful position, recruiting at PSU while he was there could not have been easier with the reputation for good defenses constructed by Jerry and the presence of JoPa. Jerry played a huge part in JVP's two NC's. I would never want TB at Pitt, even if he was not part of the most embarrassing group of football coaches ever assembled.

Oh yes I remembered the posters that were in the Bradley for HC camp. Bradley came really close to being Pitt's HC until some major donors with common sense stepped in and squashed it. I was told that they knew Bradley was toxic. Thank goodness......we certainly dodged a major bullet.

I was totally against Bradley being hired for 3 reasons:

#3 Pitt should never hire any PSU castoffs

#2 He obviously knew something about Sandusky

#1 He wasn't good enough for Temple, UConn and others, but he's good enough to be HC at Pitt? Embarrassing

I can understand the Pitt fans who wanted him as DC or position coach. Totally disagree, but can understand it. Any Pitt fan who wanted him as head coach is a self loathing Pitt fan at best. Would've been the absolute worst choice image wise on multiple fronts, and never showed that he was head coaching material. No one at the D1 level wanted him, even before the Sandusky scandal broke, it would've been an unmitigated disaster.

I could not agree more. I was adamantly opposed to even considering him for this exact reason. Count that as one thing they did not screw up. Even those clowns had enough common sense to make the right decision there. Still, I know some very prominent Pitt boosters that pushed HARD for the guy. Unreal

Here's the deal. I figured if no one else cared, why should we? Why does Pitt have to be this above the fray, bastion of morality? Why? No one cared. And I also thought it was over. But I underestimated the Paterno's and Joebot's who were so effing arrogant and at the same time naive who kept on pushing and pushing which led to more investigation of past documents and.......well....YAHTZEE!

So yeah, I was way, way, way wrong.

Give the guy credit. He was smart enough to go as far west as he could and still be in the P5. Doubt too many people out there give a darn but if he was at Pitt, you can bet it would a huge negative.
