-North Carolina is destroying Davidson

-Jimmy B is suspended the next 9 games for Syracuse

-Notre Dame just lost at home to Alabama and Monmouth

-Its looking like Louisville on the road January 14th.

ND's games were neutral ones in Orlando, not home losses. Monmouth also won at UCLA and UCLA beat Kentucky.

ND won't be easy to beat at their place and Davidson will still be a nice team this year. I don't expect us to lose to them, but they are a good team.

All of which is to say.....the transitive property is utterly useless in sports.

Absolutely.

Anyone who thinks that Notre Dame at Notre Dame isn't going to be a tough game and that they won't challenge Pitt ought to be saving up their pennies now, because it is very likely that Pitt will be the underdog in that one. Should be easy money if you really think that.

Pitt at Notre Dame will never be easy. they are too well coached.

Agree with you personally. But I find it hilarious that Brey gets so much credit (which isn't wrong), yet Dixon is constantly ridiculed. Dixon's career has been way better than Brey's and it's not even remotely debatable.

The Davidson game will be a test and we always make a big deal of games against Cuse, even if Boeheim will not be there. But, ND is always extremely tough at home, and Dixon has not been able to beat Pitino recently so those two games away one right after the other... lets just say we will be underdogs in both.

Yeah, after those two games we get the hideously bad BC Eagles (currently #228 in Pomeroy) at home followed by the 'Maverick Rowan' game (boo him off the court!) also at home.

The schedule heats up again in February with consecutive games of UVA at home, Miami on the road and UNC on the road... and then after Wake at home, another stretch with Cuse on the road, followed by Pitino at home and then the Dukies at home.

We got a starting 5 now but they need to continue to improve if we are gonna be competitive in these stretches... and Dixon... has gotta figure out how he is gonna get Jeter regular 20 mpg... and Jones... has gotta get his butt into gear.

Things look easy now but the difficulty is gonna pick up in no uncertain terms.

I will not be happy unless we compete for the top like we did in the OBE.

I live in the Philly area and never hear anything negative about Dixon, whether it's in this area with basketball people I know, or for that matter tv Bball analysts. Now, as far as some posters on this board, that is a different story.
Of course a message board of this type will have naysayers. Similarly on the football board you can find posters who actually have complaints about Coach Naz (how that even happens is laughable).
By and large Dixon is very highly regarded nationally. Sometimes when you're close to the subject, the microscope becomes larger. Hell, I have relatives in Boston who don't think much of Harvard LOL. Now, with all that said, I like Dixon and think he's a great fit for Pitt. Do I like the OOC cupcakes?...of course not. Could recruiting improve?....Yes. But on the other hand, Dixon did a
great job getting the transfers along with Wilson to salvage a poor recruiting class. Talk about
making lemonade out of lemons.
