Here is a great clip on the reasoning for tariffs. Kenny will blame Reaganomics, but Clinton (who was one of our better Presidents) shouldn’t go blameless either?

Thus the point. Free trade advocates by the chamber of commerce owned Rs has NEVER existed. All foreign country’s have put up protections in the form of tarrifs and Vat taxes to limit imports from the US. The uniparty in DC has sold out working class Americans to pad the profits of the corporations that own them. They sold it to the normies by telling them we are benefiting by getting cheap shit form overseas while millions of people were being laid off

Time for a new approach the Puts American workers first like all other countries have been doing for decades for their citizens

Who got paid for selling us out to China and propping up the CCP?

I'd put food and technology ahead of pharmaceuticals as the 5th item we must produce without reliance of any outside the US

and the other obviously is defense weaponry

I am skeptical on tariffs and trumps latest actions with them. But this woman makes a better case than Trump has. She is precise and specific about the objectives which I feel so far we haven’t gotten from Trump.

She's may not realize that she's making an argument for unions more than manufacturing. Good to hear dotard donny has changed his mind and now supports unions.

Didn’t union members by and large vote for Donnie? Maybe they aren’t the rubes you think they are.

No, they didn't vote by and large for dotard donny. Harris expanded the union share over both Clinton and Biden in the union states.

The silliness of this point, we will not be bringing manufacturing back without workers willing to work those jobs (that are not already robotics).

Step one tax all Americans with a nonsensical tariff war to bring manufacturing "back".

Step two deport the workers who would work in those imaginary manufacturing jobs.

Step three the public reads a book on the impact of tariffs and realize they are following a clueless moron (reading comprehension is a issue for most of dotard donny followers).

Let's take this a step forward. Reagan gutting the unions was a big data point on the middle class losing ground. Dotard donny doesn't support unions, he never has.

The U.S. has a big trade surplus in the service industry. They should be doubling down in that area.

Finally, a lot of people don't work in manufacturing anymore because of robots and again, makes dotard donny a moron or a liar.

So the announcements of building plants and investments by GM of 60 billion, Facebook of 60 billion and Apple’s 500 billion is fake news?

Do you want to go through all of positive net manufacturing jobs under the last 2 presidents?

One was negative (dotard donny)

One was positive over 800k (Biden)

Biden grew manufacturing and a lot more jobs will be added over the next decade as plants come online.

When did Biden need to tax you to force companies to build here? Is dotard donny too stupid or too lazy to do the same?

The bigger issue with this approach, places like Canada are now getting things like aluminum from China not the U.S. which leads to layoffs here (which we already see). You should expect to see direct foreign investment dwindle just like it from 2016 to 2020.

Long way to say, if these even ever get built (since you already got your pom poms on), big deal because the policies dotard donny is using will be net negative.

Why waste time giving them facts? Might as well piss into the wind for the same effect.

"My side" you even sound like miserable old loser clinging onto something to make you feel good about yourself. Lol.
Haha keep up with the name calling. Happy people do that often. It will be ok bro. Just four+more years.

Only thing Biden did were a huge growth in government jobs. This country needs to be making pharmaceuticals, steel, and other manufacturing jobs that pay a good wage.

So we pushed Canada to buy aluminum from China…but we pushed Russia into the arms of China with our Ukraine decisions. See how that works? We can evaluate Donnie through time…and not through TDS.

You already have 4 disasterous years to "evaluate" dotard donny. But I know, this time will be different...🙄

We pushed Russia to invade a country? Do tell.

This is so blatantly false and a lie, it's beyond hilarious. It would be better if you quit posting and making a fool of yourself any longer. The data and reality doesn't support your lies.

What's joeycovid going to do when the Republicans have control of all 3 branches for the next 24 years because the former Dem party, soon to be defunct, no longer exists?

Umm...no. The Union Leadership which is no different than corporate officers, voted for Kamala, most manufacturing rank and file voted for Trump.

I see you tapped out. I'm assuming you might have realize that you are out of your element on the topic.

Let's revisit the china tariffs. Dotard donny taxed you. Farms got crushed. Dotard donny then took your money (92%) to bail out the farmers.

What did you like about this scenario?

China now doesn't care about our soybean farmers as they now grow more and import from other countries.

Explain to everyone how this your version of "winning". Unless if you think "winning" is paying more in taxes to bailout farmers.

You are exhausting, however there was nothing disastrous about the first three years of the Trump administration. You’re disingenuous at best and a liar at worst. You want to count his covid year, fine. I guess you can claim scoreboard. Have at it. Congrats.

I didn’t tap out. I have a life. You’re a dishonest person with too much time on your hands.

But where's the "winning" in mind? What else do you need to know about tariffs to realize there's no "winning" coming from it?

This is where we differ. Manufacturing jobs grew under Obama and Trump after decades of decline . I’m honest and give credit where it’s due and you’re a deranged partisan hack. Manufacturing jobs were growing since 2010 if you look at the data. There’s only one thing that halted that and that was covid and lockdowns. Trump had two economies and if you are too deranged to admit that, then there’s not a person alive with the energy to discuss things with you.

Median household income grew under trump. Reduction in unemployment from the Obama years and below Fed expectations. Black unemployment and income at historic numbers.

I can go on and on, but why would I? You’re not an honest person when it comes to politics. Almost as though you work for the DNC. It’s weird.

And stats on everything. Jotard Joey, and I say that with affection, thinks the Dems were doing fine. Sleepy Joe had the economy humming and the MIC humping.

Bailed out the farmers? Ain't nobody who ever roped a steer or piloted a combine ever been bailed out. Just another corporate grift.

We pay farmers not to plant crops. How does that make sense?

Unions can't exist without big business. They are little more than corporate partners now. Union leaders be livin' high on the hog and just cover for the slackers. Thankfully, we still have some folks who do work.

All our tax money goes to help corporations keep prices high and wages low. Something gotta give. Let Trump burn it down so we can start over.

But where's the "winning" in mind? What else do you need to know about tariffs to realize there's no "winning" coming from it?
Buddy, we are winning in plenty of ways. What will be the net gain/loss from tariffs? There’s no possible way to deal in absolutes right now. We are 5 minutes into the ball game.

And I’d add that just about everyone right of center on this board is not totally enthralled with Trump or believes he can cash the checks he’s written (ie promises)

Despite all the accusations he’s not a facist. For permanent change he needs Congress to pass legation. We still have the uniparty in DC and I’m doubtful they’ll codify the Doge findings. It may all be more kabuki theatre

We’ll see

I've been trying to make this point for a number of years now. That wealth is being shifted upwards. It's not debatable and the parties and most voters don't seem to care, which is disheartening.
