Argument for tariffs (is Kenny8 right?)

Buddy, we are winning in plenty of ways. What will be the net gain/loss from tariffs? There’s no possible way to deal in absolutes right now. We are 5 minutes into the ball game.

It's year 5 and there's ample examples of how this goes from history.

And stats on everything. Jotard Joey, and I say that with affection, thinks the Dems were doing fine. Sleepy Joe had the economy humming and the MIC humping.

Bailed out the farmers? Ain't nobody who ever roped a steer or piloted a combine ever been bailed out. Just another corporate grift.

We pay farmers not to plant crops. How does that make sense?

Unions can't exist without big business. They are little more than corporate partners now. Union leaders be livin' high on the hog and just cover for the slackers. Thankfully, we still have some folks who do work.

All our tax money goes to help corporations keep prices high and wages low. Something gotta give. Let Trump burn it down so we can start over.

Frankly, that was well said until your last line. That's idiotic and foolish. Especially, if you think dotard donny gives a flying phuck about the middle class.

Do you want to go through all of positive net manufacturing jobs under the last 2 presidents?

One was negative (dotard donny)

One was positive over 800k (Biden)

Biden grew manufacturing and a lot more jobs will be added over the next decade as plants come online.

When did Biden need to tax you to force companies to build here? Is dotard donny too stupid or too lazy to do the same?

The bigger issue with this approach, places like Canada are now getting things like aluminum from China not the U.S. which leads to layoffs here (which we already see). You should expect to see direct foreign investment dwindle just like it from 2016 to 2020.

Long way to say, if these even ever get built (since you already got your pom poms on), big deal because the policies dotard donny is using will be net negative.
From AI:

During Donald Trump's term, from his inauguration on January 20, 2017, to February 2020—just before the COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the U.S. economy—approximately 414,000 manufacturing jobs were created. This figure is based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), which tracks monthly employment numbers. Specifically, manufacturing employment rose from about 12.4 million in January 2017 to roughly 12.814 million by February 2020, reflecting a net gain of around 414,000 jobs over that period. This growth occurred during Trump’s first three years in office, before the pandemic led to widespread job losses starting in March 2020.

Official statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) indicate that manufacturing employment increased by approximately 789,000 jobs from January 2021, when Biden took office, through December 2023. More recent estimates, reflecting data up to mid-2024, suggest that over 800,000 manufacturing jobs have been added during his administration. For instance, reports from late 2024, such as those from the U.S. Department of Commerce, note that over 700,000 new manufacturing jobs had been created by October 2024, with additional growth likely continuing into 2025. Other analyses, including those from the BlueGreen Alliance, cite a figure of more than 775,000 manufacturing jobs added since January 2021, with projections for further increases driven by legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act, CHIPS and Science Act, and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

It’s worth noting that a significant portion of these gains—roughly three-quarters—initially represented a recovery of jobs lost during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the total number of manufacturing jobs has surpassed pre-pandemic levels by about 175,000 to 200,000, depending on the exact month referenced, indicating net new job creation beyond mere recovery.

Year 4 set us back to 1940’s levels. I won’t argue. I wonder what happened in 2020? And year 5 is in its 5th week. Relax.

And because every President is the same, right? It’s ok though. Whatever wins the USA reaps will be under a new and different administration. Case in point, the 500-600 billion Apple is investing is over 4 years.

Look, you’re gonna hate no matter what. It’s ok. You can’t overcome those feelings from deep inside you. They’ve consumed you.

Lol. Joey used the term “4 disastrous years” to describe Trump’s term. We knew the 4th year was, Trump’s pandemic year. But what we also know is Joey’s posts in this thread are just as disastrous for his lair credibility.

Yep. So disastrous that 89% of US counties shifted right and america overwhelmingly wanted 4 more years of him instead of 4 more years of historically low unpopular leftist leadership.

And I guess you have nothing to say in response to NC’s data driven contradiction to your take on manufacturing (which was the subject being discussed).

The country was in a manufacturing recession before covid. Jobs were going away before covid hit.

Again, there was no overwhelming nothing. If 120k cultist like yourself, had a family who cared enough for an intervention, dotard donny would be in prison today.

You lost and it’s clear you are having a hard time dealing with it. My condolences.

Stop trying to make dotard work. This is why you’re at 29%, your shit doesn’t land.

Canada is slashing its order of F-35 fighters from 88 to not more than 32. It will re-invest the billions saved to purchase 60 or more Swedish Saab Gripen E/F-39's.

MORGAN STANLEY: “.. Our US Financials team has lowered their Investment Banking revenues forecast, as the robust capital markets rebound that they had expected in 2025 is not playing out as anticipated.”

APOLLO: Consumer sentiment is declining rapidly both for households making more than $100,000 and less than $100,000.

BofA fund manager survey: biggest drop in US equity allocation on record

But don't be concerned dotard donny will be happy with just taking your money.

Holy anecdotal, Batman.

Do you admire Kim Jong un? Because he was the one who called Trump a dotard.

But keep it up as it hits about as well as fascist or “threat to democracy.”

Dotard donny admires him, not me. That said, his description is accurate.

You know, yesterday when SMF tried to claim that trumpers are weirder than the left, I thought it would be fun to go through the Biden and Trump administrations and compare them. It wouldn’t end well for SMF. Trumps cabinet is like the over achievers at the cool kid table in HS and the biden cabinet is like the freak emu and goth kids in the corner of the cafeteria. And yeah, the overachievers built a coalition with the hoods and vo-techers who are outside the cafeteria on the hill smoking cigarettes…but they all know what’s best for the collective.

Then I thought about looking no further than JD Vance and Usha Vance, and comparing them to Tim Walz and that weird wife of his. But to the left, they think JD and Usha are weird while Walz his bizarre wife are normal. And with people who think like that, how can you have any kind of constructive discussion?

You can’t. Look at the freaks that were in the. Biden admin thag i posted pictures of. This is what smf tbinks is normal versus Christian blue collar workers

So I suppose if you think drag queens trooons and criminals are normal versus hard working middle class blue collar workers are weirdos then I suppose he’s right. But that would. Mean smf identifies as a fury or some other mentally ill degenerate

Let's be honest, there's no weirdo more weird than a trump voter.

China has targeted corn farmers and carmakers. Canada has put tariffs on poultry plants and air-conditioning manufacturers, while Europe will hit American steel mills and slaughter houses.

The retaliatory tariffs are an attempt to put pressure on the president to relent. And they have been carefully designed to hit Mr. Trump where it hurts: Nearly 8 million Americans work in industries targeted by the levies and the majority are Trump voters

There is no such thing as a constructive, decent discussion with the left. They're the insane freaks that everyone looked at in school and laughed.

Holy anecdotal, Batman.

Respondents to the March CNBC Fed Survey have raised the risk of recession to the highest level in six months, cut their growth forecast for 2025 and hiked their inflation outlook.

Much of the change appears to stem from concern over fiscal policies from the Trump administration, especially tariffs, which are now seen by them as the top threat to the U.S. economy, replacing inflation. The outlook for the S&P 500 declined for the first time since September.
