At least Dixon gave us a good run the first 10 years or so

Pat Chambers could become the coach of Kentucky tomorrow and they may struggle to make the tourney this year. Getting recruits is great, but if you can't even beat the teams you're supposedly out-recruiting, then what's the point?
Of course if you asked Chambers he'd probably tell you they didn't really lose all those games last year, there was a conspiracy out against him and the refs made sure they lost. On the other hand, maybe PSU does become good in basketball. Then Chambers will just leave for a better job. Point is they've got a long, long way to go to surpass Pitt in basketball, even with us not getting big recruits and being in a little bit of a decline.

Another local newspaper reported the following on PSU BB...
Lamar Stevens, a 6-foot-6 forward, chose the Nittany Lions over Indiana, Marquette, Maryland, Pitt, SMU, Temple and Villanova. Stevens is rated as a 4 star recruit by Rivals.

DIXON can't recruit and now he and this program are being surpassed by PSU BB.

Where is the outrage by Pitt fans? Where is the demand for better?

No disrespect towards Kithcart but perception is reality and the reality is that Dixon is getting his A$s handed to him by coach Chambers and PSU BB.

Our program is in a rapid decline and nothing is being done about it

Look, the recruiting has slid, players leave our school now it seems on a regular basis and in my opinion it's not getting any better. All these "top" elite players we were certain to get and had tons of threads on here counting the days til we'd have our SUPER CLASS are all pretty much not coming.

Again, we had a nice 10 year run or so of levels Pitt basketball had not reached. I wish we had done better in the NCAA's but as a fan it was an exciting time. Now we are pretty much back to mediocrity, sliding backwards in a new league with really no end in sight. It is what it is. I've also said it before - no excuse that we shouldn't be bringing in more McDonalds All-Americans here. Top top top guys?? Okay fine, Kentucky and Duke will get them. A notch below??? With all our success in the '00 decade there is literally no excuse not getting a few of those guys. None.

We were pulling in most of our recruits from eastern PA and the NYC metro area and now we are not pulling in ANYBODY from those areas.

THAT is the recruiting problem right there.

Is due to the move from the OBE to the ACC.

Only time will tell if Dixon finds new ground... or whatever... to pull out of this hole.

If not... yeah... looking at years of mediocrity.
