GT is not the ideal bounce-back opponent, their O can really make a mediocre defense look bad. They will score their points, and there will be a lot of pressure on the Pitt O to get the ball in the end zone. I have little faith that the O can hold up its end of the deal tomorrow.

I feel the same way. Plus all the player and coach interviews this week have the same floored look. They all look like we aren't who we thought we were and we have no leader for direction......hoping for a big turnaround, but I see 1-11 after watching these interviews....please be wrong and H2P

We finally have a qb that can run.

So 3rd & 5......3rd & 7, we dont have to rely on a pass completion to keep moving the chains.

Pickets legs will get first downs and keep the chains moving, keeping Tech off the field

38-34 Pitt

GT is going to walk off the bus with 30 points against this defense. The question is, can we outscore them?

I'm going with GT 35-24

We score 38? That's Shawn Watson's 2nd highest points in a game since he's arrived (We scored 42 on Rice). I like your confidence

GT rb out, but is Pitt's offense any better than last year? Is their defense? I don't know, its one of those precarious games, so GT wins in OT.

To be completely honest, I am never comfortable going into a Pitt game. Why? Because I have been a fan for 35+ years. Just think of the following....Youngstown St, Akron, Bowling Green, Ohio, Toledo, Houston in the Bowl Game, Cincy for the BE Title, etc.

I told a buddy the last week when he asked me of my confidence before PSU. .. the last time I was genuinely confident in a Pitt victory, to the extent I brashly exclaimed it aloud, it was walking into the stadium for the 2008 Rutgers game. I proclaimed we would kick their asses. Walked out after a 54-34 debacle, and honestly never felt confident before a game since, not even Delaware a couple years back. So the Ysu loss of Chryst's era was gross and unacceptable, but not a surprise to me at all.

While I admit I still do expect we'll beat FCS or G5 (mostly), it's never confident. I'll typically answer, well, it's a game we possibly should win.

A win against most P5 teams now genuinely does surprise me, though. I have next to 0 confidence for all, but perhaps Syracuse or Va. Road game wins, absolutely surprising against ANYONE. Even when we went to Akron. It's awful to admit, but there it is.

Edit ... I think GT is a glum team, normally ripe to defeat for most, but again, just can't predict a win. In my mind I see them putting up 38 easily like most times we play. I think our offense will show a little better then last week but not enough. More kicking woes too. We'll lose 38-20.

Agreed - and when you think we are going to win. Never, and I repeat NEVER think we won until 0:00 is on the clock and the officials are in the locker room. Let the Houston game soak in for awhile. I mean...you would have trouble losing that game if you tried. But somehow we were able to pull the L off.

yeah, but that game meant absolutely nothing. Less than nothing. A meaningless game with nothing on the line (no potential rankings) with each team coached by interim staffs. Plus it was played on a horrid day.

I also don't have a great feel about this game. I see GT running up & down the field with the defensive guru still unable to stop them even though this will be the 5th time facing the triple option. But GT has an equally bad D. So it will be somewhat high scoring but Tech probably wins 41-35. I think our running game has a big day, and Pickett will do well but dumb mistakes will once again kill us.

Okay....Cincy game at Heinz for BE Title. Huge Lead Blown. Somebody’s got to be the Cleveland Browns.

We never beat this team. Can't stop the triple option (won't make the HT adjustments to make it better). We will definitely have PSU hangover and I've yet to see (besides Ollison) an offensive playmaker arise. This has 38-17 written all over it...

that's not true. Narduzzi is 2-1. Just don't shut them down but we did pull out two very close wins. I don't count Chryst.

My prediction for the game...
Defensively - We come up with a new Defensive scheme, "12 in the box" to stop the Triple option.
We have 200 yards in penalties by halftime, and we finally make a Defensive adjustment,
Putting 11 Defensive players on the field for the second half.
Offensively - We finally decide to pass more, running 12 shovel passes in the first half.
We make our halftime adjustments and run 15 swing passes to the RB's.

Serious prediction - GT 35 Pitt 28
First time I have ever predicted a Pitt lose... (Maybe that will give us a Win).
I will always root for the Panthers, but until we start seeing some proper schemes/game plans on both sides of the ball, I am not being so optimistic..

Nicely Done! Will Paris Ford be one of those 12?

When was the last time you felt good going into a game vs a P5 opponent? Been awhile for me.

I have no feeling about this game. I think we all knew PSU has a better roster. I think tomorrow’s going to be a much better indicator of how the seasons going to play out. 2-1 after 3 is not too shabby. 1-2 with a conference loss and it’s same old Pitt again. That will also mean that GT will be something like 3-12 in their last 15 road games with two of those wins against two different Pitt coaches.

Will Pitt be on the wrong side of a lobsided record once more? Who knows.

Absolutely, I mean, forget we beat them 2 of the last 3 years, we never beat them.

Yea I'm a Penn Stater, but before you jump all over me, I'm a Western Pa guy too who roots for Pitt, except the day they play PSU. I'm really rooting for a big win this game. I think these are tough kids who look past the last game and the lame coaching. Pride and Pickett = Pitt 38- GT 31.

Not feeling good about Saturday, will be there for GT and going to NC. We could be 1 and 4 after UCF. I hope not but not seeing anything to make me fell any different, Realy hope I am wrong!! HTP

I feel good. I think it's a close game in the fourth quarter. Pitt up 24-17and Biggs does a scoop and score for a 31-17 lead. Pitt gets a Zeise interception with 4 minutes to play. HCPN try's to pull a Franklin and run the score up but Pickett throws a pick 6 and panthers hold on 31-24

Normally I get amused at how many posters predict 9-3 and beyond before the season starts.

Now the majority of posters here think we are going 4-8 or worse.

I mean.....you have to feel this way if you are predicting a loss to GA Tech.

Im sorry guys.....Pitt is better than last Saturday and we arent playing a team with superior talent.

We are going to beat Tech and we are going to look pretty good doing it.

Im doubling down on the Fightin Narduzzis

38-34 Pitt

I will take any kind of win, but if you're that confident in a "looking good" win, but predict a 4 point squeaker?

Well......

They are 3-4 point dogs,

It is likely they give up a big play or two,

But by and large, I think the D plays better, Pickett moves the chains and we see some semblance of a football team getting better

GT is usually a competitive game for us so I'll hope for similar.

Narduzzi is 2-1 we are basically even with GT the past 5 or so meetings

Is tomorrow going to be a torrential downpour?

If not we should get xtra points and FGs

And punts

There’s no way regardless of how they feel about tomorrow you were going to see positive upbeat interviews this week

Who cares about uniforms

Win The gdamn game

Unless we have a death or serious injury on the field there’s no way this game could be worse than the complete garbage we saw last week.

And if it’s equally bad, at least fewer people will witness it.

After Saturday night, I got a bad feeling about the whole season!!!

The idiot coach puts too much into the PSU game just like the idiot fans. The game means nothing. Play for championships, not for mouthing off rights.

The entire team and fanbase is deflated because of some overhyped bs game between a team in the same state. Great decision AD.

I agree it that PSU is not anywhere near as important as winning the ACC coastal, but that game is our only chance to get national attention directed at PITT not the ACC or ACC "race". That is the value of the PSU game. While I would rather play WVU every year. It is not an IN STATE rivalry and doesn't hit the NJ/Philly recruiting market.

HCPN has no choice but to talk up this game just to get the PITT brand outside of Western PA.
