A few observations:
Terrible defensive game plan. You can’t play soft coverage when a team is throwing quick passes. That killed us.
Several years in and Narduzzi still isn’t coaching our DBs to turn their heads and look for the ball.
Whipple is a decent coach for the passing game. But he has no idea when it comes to the running game. Poor blocking schemes, slow development, very little personal motion. Terrible. Just terrible.
On the last drive, once we got into FG range, we were still snapping the ball with more than 10 seconds on the play clock. Had we milked the clock, we may have won. I’ll have to go back and look at it again, but I’m estimating we gave them about 22 to 30 seconds on the clock that we could easily have taken off.
I love having depth on Defense. But we are rotating too many players too often. There is no continuity which is caused communication and assignment breakdowns.
The failure to fair catch on the last kickoff was bad.
Total lack of discipline on D.
Overall, this is a really bad loss.
