Can anyone think of, or find out if a P5 1st place team was not ranked in the polls on 2/14? This has to be a factoid of historic and epic nature. I can’t think of a major conference leader so disrespected in the polls.
A few years ago I remember the pac 10 only getting their auto qualifier into the tourney. But I don’t remember if that team (was Cal their tourney winner that year) or any other team was ranked in the polls. I would love to hear Decourcey, Katz, Davis, etc address this. Would be a fabulous question if they do a mailbag type forum or article.
