or maybe take the non-negative yinzer view and think maybe it is Pitt/Narduzzi that cooled on him as well?

Why always assume that Pitt strikes out? Narduzzi might be getting more selective, who knows? No inside knowledge at all, but I'm taking the glass half full approach on this one.

Not sure Pitt could take Bastida after Davis committed. Both may play the same position and this is a small class. Pitt has other positional needs. That word has gotten out lately when Bastida's name has appeared.

Disagree. Our LB depth is such that our LB recruiting will not stop because Davis verballed. Narduzzi will take another if he finds one he likes.

We get youre a moron and all. But the kid has been liking every recruit that picks Pitt, and saying positive things. I would say, as others have, if there is a change of heart, it is from Pitt, not Bastida. Just beating out psu for yet another recruit this year isnt good enough, if the staff has cooled on him, so be it. Perhaps MSU has too, who knows. All you know is kids have twitter accounts and the coaches dont comment on any recruit and cant comment.
Do I think we need the kid? Probably... never seen him play, but looks good on paper. But his rival rating is 5.5 and 3 stars, and that is even with an LSU and psu offer. But we already have 9 commits, maybe taking another 9 only... we may have had a bad year at linebacker play the past few years, but truth is we have 11 lbs on the roster now, and got Davis at the same spot. Davis has the exact same rating as Bastida.

Yep has to be the underlined part of this post. The other 8 kids that verballed in the last couple weeks clearly have no idea this is happening though and it is only this one kid that knows this.

Good grief. Quite the leap over one recruit who is considering more schools.
