I would be totally fine with Pitt doing the same. There's really not much to gain. The extra practice BS will not matter.

BC wants their players to enjoy the holidays and break. Not worry about practicing for a game that may canceled.

i agree, replce it with a game against the Eers in morgantown or at heinz, no fans, no travel or hotels maybe a week before christmas and that would be perfect..

I have to agree with BC on this. Not only may the game get canceled, it's also meaningless and not worth the time to prepare for. Let the kids get back home with their families to enjoy the Holidays. That's much more important in a year like we've had. The game can wait. It's not important.

I hope Pitt is smart enough to do the same thing and put first things first. If they're even invited to an exhibition game.

If a deal is made and Pitt receives $$$ for it they're going to a bowl game regardless.

I think most teams, probably Pitt included will vote for to skip. These kids want to go home and get back into society after essentially being bubbled all year. I heard BC only had 1 positive test out of 8000 all season. That's crazy and I cant imagine the restrictions they put on themselves to accomplish that. That probably took a toll

So money is more important than the kids being with their families at a time like this. That's not very smart and shortsighted. Especially in 2020.

bowl games are a financial loss for pitt. well the bowls we are used to getting invites too anyways.. pitt does not make money on these exhibition games in detroit or alabama or annapolis.

all this talk about seeing families and getting back home...uh, when exactly did society open up again? I must have missed that and I thought that 20 year olds going home killed grandma and pap-pap. Make up your mind. I thought we were second wave surging. Seems to me the extra time away gives us several weeks more to get some vaccines to the most vulnerable and football players get to, wait for it, play football.....

TV $$$ has to be worked into the equation somewhere??
maybe, i dont know. i've read so many articles about how alot of these bowls actually cost money when it's all said and done.

Regarding bowls, count me in as the more pitt football plays, the better. for selfish reasons of course.

Me 2!

I don’t care one way or another about a bowl game for Pitt. And, the players will be safe enough one way or another from Covid. They have a greater risk of death from a car accident on their way home than they do from Covid. The biggest risk is that they could spread Covid to others at or when home who are at risk of dying from Covid.

Covid is close to becoming the leading cause of death in the US. It’s a 9/11 happening every day.

I agree with this. This would totally be the right move.

I'm all for BC not playing in a bowl game, too.

However, I expect Pitt should want to play in a bowl game, if invited. And, I'm all for that.

To be honest, they probably want to get back home and party with their hometown friends. Not saying Pitt specifically but college football players in general.
