Beating the National Champ on the road and PSU in the same year!

Are you saying that you hope we aren't as successful in year 3? 89 pointed out that we are ahead of pace after 2 years.
You aren't a Pitt fan. You just said "It's going to be a cold day in hell when a ACC program that isn't FSU, Clemson, or Miami wins a national championship." You are basically saying Pitt will never win a National Championship. Why don't you just go away?

There are lots of times that TD's "slip is showing". He sometimes doesn't review his wording closely to mask his troll-iness before he hits "Post".

You found one of those times.

No. I'm a fan that can accept reality. I stated in another post that we could compete for one if we went renegade like in the 70s & 80s and use the same tactics as other football powers.

Please. What ACC program other than FSU, Clemson, or Miami do you see winning a National Title in the forseeable future.

VT played Clemson good in the ACC Champs Game, ULou will get better. FSU, Clemson and Miami are the challenges for not just Pitt, but SEC too. Clemson toughest games in 2016 were Pitt, Bama, NCS, ULou, FSU, and VT, do you discount that somehow from reality?

Big Ten Scheduling put 4 Big Ten Teams in Top Ten, but only Michigan and OSU had chances for the NCS Titles. WIsky, PSU, Nebraska have not had a chance for NCS since they joined the Big Ten. Only MSU got in by barley beating Iowa and both were trounce in Bowls. Do you actually think Penn State or Wisconsin would have beaten Clemson in place of Ohio State or Michigan that night?

Big-12 only has OU with OKST, or Texas challenging for NCS. WVU beat one Ranked Team in KSU this year, and badly blown out against OU, OKSU & Miami?

Pac-12 only had USC and Oregon most of the time. USC beat Washington & Colorado Division Winners.

Bama has dominated SEC but Auburn, LSU, Florida, and A&M challenges them. None were capable in 2016? Only Clemson!

Yet, like you said since the College Football Playoffs only SEC's Bama and Big Ten's Ohio State won NCS, until yesterday and ACC'S Clemson beat both Saban & Meyers as of today in the NCS Playoffs.

Pitt had a solid Win against Clemson is a reality as well. I put up the Vegas ESPN odds for 2017 to win the Title:

FIRST TIER:

SEC: Alabama CRIMSON TIDE 3-1

SECOND TIER:
ACC Florida St SEMINOLES 7-1
B12 Oklahoma SOONERS 8-1
B10 Ohio St BUCKEYES 8-1

P12 USC TROJANS 8-1

THIRD TIER:
ACC Louisville CARDINALS 12-1
B10 Michigan WOLVERINES 12-1
SEC LSU TIGERS 12-1
ACC Clemson TIGERS 18-1
B12 Texas LONGHORNS 25-1

FIFTH TIER JUST AS BIG A CHALLENGE AFTER 30-1 TO 60-1?
The Remainder have just as long Odds Against:

2017 Top Odds to make 4 Team Playoff By Conference:
ACC:
FSU
ULou
Clemson

SEC:
Bama
LSU

B10:
OSU
Michigan

B12:
OU
TX

P12:
USC

There are only 4 Program Teams selected from really just from 9-10 Teams Programs with Top Ten Recruiting in most years with 50+ to 60+ Four & Five Star Recruits and with Elite Top Coaches capable of Playing and Winning the NCS anyway????

The rest the 129 FBS Teams have the same challenge in their Conferences just like Pitt, and that is seen realistically as well.

So, I don't mind you holding Pitt up to such a challenge to challenge but include all the other Programs as well, that either lack the Program Resources, Recruiting, or Coaching on the Higher Top Level that chooses only 4 out of 8 or 10 Teams since CFB Playoffs Invitations Began.

As you pointed before the ACC Won last night, no other Coaches or Conferences Won except Bama's Saban & OSU 's Meyers.

And now you can add Clemson's Dabo beating OSU's Meyers last week, and Bama's Saban yesterday?

Certainly your not predicting the Fifth Tier teams or below have a Chance to win the NCS when only Bama, Ohio State, and Clemson have done it so far and Bama and OSU are all back again. As well as, only FSU, MSU, Oregon, and OU got in the 4 Playoffs too with OSU, Bama, and Clemson multiple times?
3 TEAMS 30-1 PENN STATE
3 TEAMS 40-1
4 TEAMS 50-1
4 TEAMS 60-1 WVU
4 TEAMS 80-1
6 TEAMS 100-1
3 TEAMS 200-1
11 TEAMS 300-1 PITT
ALL THE REST 500 TO 10,000 1

WHAT TREND DO YOU SEE?????

Doesnt get better than this!
It could get better but its a good thing!
Wife and I watched the game from start until the end of all the post game commentary beyond Sports Center.
They mentioned alot that Clemson had one loss, BUT NOT ONCE DID THEY MENTION THAT PITT BEAT Clemson.
If they had mentioned that during the pre and post game commentary that would have been huge PR for the PITT program.
In addition the "highlight reel" that they played post game showed many teams including UNC, but no PITT.
I would have thought they would have showed PITT playing Clemson. They showed the Nitters playing Ohio State and many other teams.

What B1G program besides Ohio State do you see winning the title in the forseeable future? PSU? No titles in 31 years. Michigan? 1 title in 68 years. Wisconsin? Please.

What SEC program besides Alabama, LSU, or Auburn do you see winning the title in the foreseeable future? Florida? They're the 3rd best team in their own state. Georgia? please. A&M or Tennessee? nope.

What P12 program besides USC do you see winning the title in the forseeable future? Oregon? Not anymore. Stanford? UCLA? Utah? Come on.

What you say about FSU, Clemson, and Miami can be said about EVERY P5 conference's Top 2 or 3.

No matter how you look at it, this was a great year with what is now the biggest signature win of the 2016 season. Pitt could have won every game this season. The biggest disappointment was losing to a 6-6 NW Team. But this offense was truly a joy to watch and almost unstoppable. I'm not sure if the offense will be as good next year or not. So much depends on the QB situation. But the defense should be improved and the schedule should be somewhat more favorable after we get through the first few OOC games. Things are moving ahead and the excitement is building. It just feels good.

Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and TAMU can at least recruit well enough to give their programs a chance to get in the title picture. No programs in the ACC besides FSU, Clemson, and Miami can even do that.

How far back do we have to go to find a win that big? 82 Sugar Bowl? 13-9 was great and all but we were not very good that year. We were better the next year but we still managed to lose to Bowling Green coming out of the gate. I can't think of another win in that span that even comes close to comparing.
