Beck is off the board

Good enough for Urban. Good enough for tom Herman. But not good enough for Pitt, does that sound about right?

Who is your guy that will be better?

Oh, that's right your prediction is Tim Salem.
Well, those two head coaches are offensive guys.
And my guess is Buckeye Nation isn't that upset to see Beck go.

I know he was fired, but I still like Kevin Johns.

Do we know for sure that Pitt wasn't interested in Beck but simply chose to coordinate at a blue blood like Texas instead?

Let's be honest - there would have been quite a few people on here complaining if Beck was hired. Sid Gilman in his prime could be hired and some slaps would still complain.

urban not wasting any time.

Ohio State: Former 49ers quarterbacks coach Ryan Day is expected to join the Ohio State staff as a coordinator / quarterbacks coach, according to Bruce Feldman. Day spent one year with the 49ers and the previous year with the Eagles. He was a Florida graduate assistant under Urban Meyer in 2005. He was Boston College offensive coordinator from 2013-14 and Temple offensive coordinator in 2012, working with former Florida assistant Steve Addazio.

Not sure what Narduzzi is waiting for??? Got a month until LOI Day. Could reel in some recruits with a good hire.

He's not going to rush on his hire,he always takes his time,we might not have an OC till closer to NSD

there is a reason why HC's don't wait, my guess the announcement is made prior to next Wed(11th).

Why would I want someone who couldn't figure out Clemson's D after a month of prep after we did it in a week?

The guy has an offense full of 4- and 5- star athletes, has almost a month to prepare, and scores zero points against a Clemson team that gave up 43 at home to Pitt.

Sorry. No thanks.

I understand that. He's from Youngstown. Played at UCF. been coaching since 1988. 6 years of HS coaching out of 28 years really doesn't spell "Texas guy" to me.

Was also a Texas high school coach for 5-6 years and been recruiting Texas for plenty of schools.

If your going to bash a guy, give me your guy that is better?
I don't have a "guy", nor was I necessarily bashing him. More like trying to explain why some here wouldn't be enamored with the guy despite his resume.
Though I agree that osus inconsistencies raises red flags.

And, since he ain't coming here, we can go ahead and criticise him and still be good little Pitt fans.

How MANY times do I have to point this out, Beck DIDN'T call the offensive plays in the Clemson game, nor for the other OSU games. He was not the actual play caller. BTW, you mentioned all that 4/5 star talent w/OSU. Did Clemson have any of that? or was it just OSU?

Just like last night for USC. Clay Helton's brother is on the staff and is listed as CO-OC. He doesn't call ANY of the plays either. Tee Martin is the play caller. Tee makes all the offensive play calls.

Why is this so hard to people to grasp? HC's have started giving fancy titles to get their guys more money, even though they don't actually call the plays. Its just a "title".

for all the people complaining about Beck, just remember we haven't named our guy yet. its not a given he will be better than Beck.

will also be interesting to see what the defensive changes end up being
