Looks like it's regarding the AD position. Hard to think they already have someone considering Barnes just officially left today, but then again they were the first ones to report his departure. If it's rumored to make "national" news, could it be Radakovich?

Excuse me if I just wait for some news without getting excited. Considering the source of the rumor.

Pitt knew all along about Barnes.

Radakovich is the only name/move, which could be big National news without being a disaster. Dave Wannstedt would make National news, make me puke, and be unbelievably bad.

I know Radakovich is from the area, but hard to see him leave Clemson. Would be a monster hire, though.

There is a zero percent chance pitt takes tressel. Same people that think tressel are the kind that think pitt hires tom bradley

What!? That really would be a monster hire. Ever since he went to ysu I've been saying we should go after him for some role. I really hope they make this happen.

Jim Tressel is the president at YSU. Taking an AD job would be a big demotion, not happening. I could see him getting back to coaching though.

I really hope its not Wanny. Great guy but not qualified by any stretch.

Louis Riddick would be another big name. Not sure if he'd be interested at leaving broadcasting. Also not sure if his pro front office experience translates to college.

Just saw Tressel's name on Pittsburgh Sports Now too. Says he has big interest, no idea if Pitt has interest. I find it quite hard to believe but I suppose anything is possible. He does have some familiarity with Narduzzi going back to his playing days at YSU.

It would be a signal that Pitt is ready to invest big time to bring athletics, primarily the football program, to the next level and not just maintaining status quo.

I would say Pitt would most definitely would be interested. To the point of if tressel actually is interested, he's gonna be hired quickly.

Did anyone else read that guy's whole twitter page? He claims Pitt's list is tressel followed by wanny and then possibly narduzzi in what he called a Barry Alvarez type role. Interesting. I know Joe Jordano was a candidate last time.

Tressel may just miss the "sports" side of things. Never say him as a president type.

Yeah but I always saw him getting back to coaching eventually. Maybe he feels he is too old for that and the AD job would be a nice middle ground.

If they want a cheerleader as AD then I think Wanny would be great. I love the guy and hate how he was run off but does he have any experience with fundraising? I can't believe Narduzzi would have any interest at all.

I'm not so sure it would be narduzzi being interested as much as Pitt just offering him however much power they need to to keep him here. If he doesn't want it, that's fine. I think wanny also fits that, a guy they know will never leave. But if the tressel rumors get deep into the negotiation stage, I think he's just too good for Pitt to pass up.

The fact that so many names are being thrown around can mean only one thing: that it's all pure speculation, and no one knows for certain who the next AD will be.

Some of y'all are putting these names out there for the sole purpose of being able to say, "See - I was right!", if somehow you get lucky with your pick.

I seem to recall seeing Pederson made about as much as Nordenburg, so it may not be that much of a demotion, at least monetarily.

I'm sure its a pay bump from YSU, just a demotion in title.

Did his show clause ban him from AD jobs as well? Even if it didn't, perhaps it made him toxic to any athletic department. His five years is up. Maybe that's why he went the university administration route until now.

Just having him in the same building and having is name associated with the program would have a nice impact on recruiting. Not many names bigger than Jim Tressel when it comes to college football over the past 20 years.

Highly likely he would make more as Pitt AD than YSU president. I think he misses the sports aspect of it and I think he would be a home run hire!

There are quite a few tattoo shops on the South Side. So he has that going for him.

Tressel and Narduzzi both Youngstown guys. Seems like a good fit. Tressel has had great success in all things football related. I'm for it!

Recruiting who? Few high school football players probably remember him.

Pitt's next AD will likely be someone few people have ever heard of.

Just throwing out numbers: Tressel was to make $300k base in his first two years as president there. Pederson's base his last year here was almost double that, 588k

This is awfully similar to the basketball situation. Sean Miller was floated around and Pitt ended up with Stallings. Don't get your hopes up here.

The situation here is attractive from a football perspective. He could stay close to his home and oversee a major P5 athletics program. Not many other places he could do that (OSU, WVU, PSU being the others). it does make sense to go big to show Narduzzi the level of commitment to the program.

Yeah the Barnes playing this out thing was perfect. First off... Barnes?? Was hardly a stud AD, and then he put it out for over a week he may leave. Lots of guys looking for jobs probably contacted Pitt, and we had time to vet. I think we hire someone quicker than normal.

If Tressel comes then the OC will come shortly after

This is exciting stuff potentially. We need to keep the football program's arrow pointing up! Hope whoever it is, we get the right guy. We need to take some chances, but if we do, I don't want the team on probation for violations in the next 10 years or ever really.
I do like the Youngstown connection tho! Tressel and Duzz! H2P
