And last year at this time. Any sign of this turnaround? Some nice players coming in next year and perhaps a couple more. Some players are already here unless you expect all to bolt this spring. What would be a sign? Burton is gone but where did he come from? Let me guess, he fell into Capel’s lap after taking the wrong bus, plane and then bus again. Anything good is a perfect storm according to you. So…no chance this staff procures a roster much like they did this past year? Your valued sources telling you nobody is coming to Pitt?
1/5 years bro. Hometown hero. Kid coming off knee on roster. Burton already on roster. Relationship with Elliot. I don’t think it’s repeatable to get 4 24 year old guards to come here; no. We’ll see how they do the rest of the year in the portal. At least it is interesting going into January!!
I think you’re proving my point. Originally you said this is the year with no hope for the future. Particularly with the portal, competing like this and being relevant in March should lead to a program rather than a team if you have a staff that can eye undervalued or under appreciated college talent and target good traditional recruits. Once we have a program again, then you talk about “the year” for conference championships or greater.
Unless you originally meant this is the year that Capel has to produce. In which case I agree with you.
Lol yes I meant this is the year capel has to *continue* to produce (he already has; and kudos to him), finish at or near the NcAa tournament and duplicate his portal success. I’m a skeptic but I’m gun shy from Pitt athletics.

My props to you … I know you take a lot of heat because you are largely critical of Capel, but I know you are still a Pitt fan to the highest degree and are always rooting for success.

I don’t think we really are weaker up front. Fede is exactly what you need out of a post nowadays. Shot blocked, screener, finished. Hugley is more an Aaron gray old type of post. If you’re going to be like that, you need to be a Bacot, McCormack type of unicorn. And Hinson is actually an upgrade of Mo who while very good, was not as special as Hinson has been. We are razor thin up front without Hugley’s minutes so need to keep the injury bug away. But the guards are absolutely the key to the success and need to continue to be.
I’m an even bigger fan of money and that Pitt parlay was key today. Wish I would’ve just done moneyline!

agree with what you said
about Hinson, but he's on
the outside so often it's
hard to see him as a big.
Fede is surprising us with
his play, but he has a long
way to go. What I like
about him, is how good
he is going to be with time
and body mass increase.
I'd say the same about the
twins. Again, the point here
is the guards. Their age,
maturity and experience
are key to what's going on
with this team.

I'm with you, Bball. I'm enjoying the success in the moment but also understand that it's one game and it's very early in the season. Capel hasn't proven anything yet, but it sure feels good to have some fun watching this for a change. If this Pitt team is doing this in late February and early March, then Capel will have proven it can be done at Pitt and I'm all for keeping him to finish the job. But let's just enjoy this for now. 2 HUGE Panther wins in one day! How often does that happen????
